Looking to see the replay of the Arsenal Newcastle game now. Crazy ass game.

Eight goals in the second half. Can't wait to see highlights of that one.

Tottenham goes third with a 2-1 win over Sunderland, though that will likely change after Everton-Chelsea tomorrow. A home win over Reading on Tuesday will make this a great week.

Thought this was funny

Nike CEO Phil Knight announces a new line of body armor for goalkeepers stuck behind crap defenses. It will be called Guzan-ite.

Just so I'm clear, Liverpool paid 12m pounds to Chelsea for Daniel Sturridge, and Chelsea turned around and bought Demba Ba for 7m? This actually just happened? What a joke.

I usually hate this time of year as its usually so uninspiring as an Arsenal fan. Though Wenger seems to be going after David Villa as does Tottenham. When was the last time he bought someone over the age of 30. He and Walcott could do some damage.

Despite the great form individually and on the league table, I don't like Clint on Spurs. That O doesn't flow. I'd like to see him elsewhere.

It's gotten slightly better, but in general it's not always pleasant. They just signed the kid from Schalke to a precontract for next term. Make the CL, sell Bale for silly money, upgrade the backline, move Clint to that wing, and you've got an intriguing offense.

... and he scores in his debut after only 7 minutes. I know it's only non-league Mansfield, but it's a nice start.

Liverpool still barely won 2-1.

Thanks to a handball from Luis Suarez.

My point wasn't that he isn't good. He's just not worth nearly twice Demba Ba. Great piece of business from Chelsea.

There's a hard to believe rumor going around that Arsenal are lining up a bid for CJ Sapong. The MLS players they've been interested in (Ream) are kind of baffling. Also, Zusi & Agudelo are trialling at West Ham.

Daniel Sturridge got that sweet, sweet English player upcharge, because he's about half the player Ba is at twice the price. Also, I could score against Mansfield.

Sapong to Arsenal makes no sense unless they immediately loan him to someone on the continent for PT. He'd never see the field for their first team; he's not there yet.

Dude is 24. Aka a year younger than Mike Bradley and Messi.. He's not exactly a youth prospect.

True, but even accounting for the whole "US players are late bloomers" thing, I don't see it. Ream made sort of sense because he plays the ball on the desk and is a soft defender, aka exactly what Arsenal appear to value. Sapong is all tools right now.

Don't get me wrong, I don't see it either. That's what I was saying, he's not only not good enough, but he doesn't fit Arsenal's model of talent acquisition either. It's absurd.

The Toronto FC Story: How To Take A Good Thing and Ruin It

Ryan Nelsen is their new manager.

Ryan Nelsen plays for QPR.

Ryan Nelsen plays for New Zealand.

Ryan Nelsen will not play for Toronto FC (yet).

Ryan Nelsen will not be attending the rookie combine because he will be playing for QPR.

Ryan Nelsen will not be attending the MLS Draft because he plays for QPR.

What the [expletive] is happening? Kevin Payne clearly thinks he can be the personnel guy and Nelsen the x's and o's guy, but how many times does TFC have to flip the bird to it's fantastic fans before they just stop showing up? This is ridiculous and will fail miserably.

Fox Soccer Channel is changing formats from all soccer content to Fox Sports 2. While this is a sign of the proliferation of soccer on other platforms/channels and ultimately a very positive reflection on how the sport doesn't need to be boosted up by specialized channels because it can survive being just another major sport in the cable sports portfolio, I can't help but be bummed out. FSC carried the torch for soccer in this country before that seemed like a good idea financially for a long time.

Other major sports are able to have content on other channels and still maintain their own specialized channels as well. With the sheer amount of soccer leagues, you'd think that soccer would be able to do the same.

Isn't NBC Sports taking on a lot of futbol?

Also, is there a Fox Sports 1? I thought Fox Sports was essentially what was on all the fox regional networks.
