It would be awesome if the core players didn't all look so tired they wanted to die.

That was a really ugly game. A&B were pretty organized, and we looked kinda bad in the final third.

Jones and Gomez move very intelligently without the ball.

Mexico with an identical result v Guyana.

They looked tired, too.

Guat City will be a fun time. I love WCQ in Central America. It's like watching a game in Thunderdome.

Also, OT, I love the fact that the Euros are giving us so many matchups with hate in them. Germany v Holland? Poland v Russia? England v France? In the group stages?

Rewatched the game (yeah, I know). I honestly don't know what Klinssy's trying to accomplish. Does quick touch layoffs = proactive American style?

I see things here and there, like a conscious effort to build out of the back and possess the ball.

Where we need radical improvement is on our off-the-ball runs against a packed defense. That's mostly where we looked poor last night. Whenever someone would get the ball in the 18 or hereabouts, they would immediately have 3 guys around them and had to try and dribble to create space. There was no room to shoot.

They need to watch tape of Barca and watch those guys and how they move off the ball in the final third.

God I love the Euros

EDIT: I didn't realize or remember that UEFA has end line officials in these games. I'm interested to see what impact that has.

The Dutch have to equal this, right?

If Denmark want to score again on the break, I think they can. I don't see Holland breaking through at this point.

Great showing from the Danes. They looked every bit as dangerous as Holland

Yeah, the coming in the Danes were an afterthought in Group B, but they are quality. If the afternoon result is a draw, Group B is wide open.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Portugal gets maybe 1 point out of this group. CR7 can't play 1 v 11, and the rest of that team is hot, wet ass.

I still don't understand why they're on the same side of the goal as the linesman. If the linesman can't whether the ball crossed the line, there's a decent chance the extra official won't be able to either. The goal in the FA Cup semi game between Chelsea and Tottenham comes to mind.

What are the rumors around Lewandowski? That guy is the truth.

Messi with the hat trick v brazil today, including a beauty from the top of the 18.

Not that this would be a game changing idea, but I still rate Benny Feilhaber higher than Torres. Kljestan too. Badically i dont rate Torres.

If we're playing out of the back, we need a linking player. Dempsey was dropping way too deep. Bradley was setup too deep. Ideally it's Holden, but blah blah blah.

Interesting games yesterday; though not as exciting as the games I missed Friday.

While it was an upset, Denmark is sneaky good. They're better than most people believe. The Netherlands are in a bit of a quandry now . . . they basically play all defenders or attackers, with little to no link between the two. Their defense, which was supposed to be a big issue in the 2010 World Cup, looked shaky. So, needing points against Germany next game, do they start another attacker (Van der Vaart for De Jong/Van Bommel?) and hope to link better, and therefore weaken the already suspect defense against Germany? I doubt it; they'll likely stay with the two holders.

Spain-Italy today is a big name match-up, but I'm expecting it to be very predictable. Hope not.
