From Grant Wahl's WCQ column:

The U.S. is one of only seven nations to reach the last six World Cups -- along with Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Italy, South Korea and Spain.

I know we benefit from a very weak federation(South Korea too), but I never would have guessed the total number to be this low.

My first thought was when did Mexico not qualfiy, but they got DQ'd in 1990 for fielding overage players in the previous Olympics.

Both Fab Johnson and Edgar Castillo are out tonight v Antigua and Barbuda. I'm not sure who you put at left back now, but this team should be able to beat Antigua and Barbuda without anybody at left back, so I'm just hoping they're healthy for the Guatemala trip.

Most people are saying put Parkhurst there, but as far as I'm concerned, go with a 3-4-3.

Cameron could slot back defensively when needed, but it probably won't be needed.

Good result for Greece tonight. Heading to Paris tomorrow. Need to find a place to watch Holland. Assuming that should not be too difficult.

Poland could win Group A.

Anybody from Group B would win Group A, though.

Note: This was said before Poland's keeper decided to be a complete and total idiot.

In Paris? That might not be as easy as you think.

Sort of a fear of mine. Staying in the Latin District. By the way Poperinge and Watou are a blast. Very nice people.

Be sure to drop by the Abbey or better still - "In de Vrede" just across the street form the Abbey ;-)

You should be OK for the match coverage tomorrow - either TF1 or M6 will show it live in France, and both are readily available (at least they were in every French hotel I've stayed in for the last few years). Better get ready for French commentators though ;-)

Torres at "left back" tonight.

I saw that and laughed. It's not like we'll need him.

I do like Clint in the false 9 role, though.

The weather looks absolutely awful.

Dry pitch and deuce brings that down clean. Gonna be sloppy.

No doubt.

Not sure why, apart from the flight to Guatemala City, we decided to play this one in Tampa.

Edu has no feel for ticki taka. Bradley and Jones trying to make triangles and he's glued to their hip.

Yeah...he's only really a guy who can clean up in front of the CBs. He's got no other skills.
