So that's pretty much the United midfield I expected all season. They got overrun by a midfield that isn't that great (although I rate Benayoun highly).

And a midfield with their Captain on the sidelines. I really like Benayoun too.

Spector getting the start today vs. Arsenal. Arsenal need the win today and they will be able to keep pace with Chelsea. Right now I think the league is going to come down to those two.

Why Six Alex doesn't play Anderson in games like this is beyond me.

He should probably have put Owen in sooner, too. If you watch him off the ball his runs are fantastic.

Deuce just equalized for Fulham against Citeh.

He seems to like playing in the big games. Are you watching the game? I'm only seeing the gamecast, but it seems to be a wide open attacking game looking at the stats.

Arsenal grab a quick lead.

I'm too lazy to find the stream everyone is watching on BigSoccer. I'm just following the game thread while I play dinosaurs with my daughter.

Arsenal are such a joy to watch.

Very nice draw for Fulham. I hope Spector plays well today even though I want Arsenal to win. His development over the next 9 months could be huge.

If Arsenal can keep this team together for the next 3-5 years its going to be great to watch. We will hear the Cesc rumors to Barca every summer till it actually happens, but Barca are not the pricks that Real are and they seem happy as long as he is happy. Plus playing for Wenger will only make him that much better for the inevitable return to the Nou Camp.

Gallas with a nice goal off a corner, 2-0 now.

You know who suck?

Milan. Milan suck.

That team is old, bad, old, bad and washed up.

Adriano Galliani (Milan's CEO) has stated that Beckham is going back there for another spell starting in January.

That won't change what you posted, of course. :-))

Real lost 4-0 in the Copa Del Ray today to a team from the third tier league. Its not like they played all youngsters either, Raul, Van Der Vart, Drenthe, Arbeloa, and Guti all started.

What's funnier is its a team which is in the same division as Real's youth side.

I loved it.

You think Gooch would get any PT if he were healthy?

No. They suck, but not really at that position.

Phil Brown out?

Big Bad Brad is really getting a run for his money by Big Bad Brad 2.0. The Worm saved four (4!) penalties last night. 1 in reg and 3 in penalties. O'Neill is all hot and bothered by him and it's pretty easy to see why. Every time dude takes the pitch for Villa he puts on a show in goal.

http://soccer365.com/americans_abroad/story_281009150748.php

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill hailed a fantastic performance from goalkeeper Brad Guzan as his Aston Villa side knocked Sunderland out of the Carling Cup.

The American saved four penalties, one at the end of normal time from Kenwyne Jones and three in the shoot-out which followed a goalless 120 minutes, as Villa edged into the last eight.

Guzan is the understudy to Brad Friedel for Villa but he was the key figure at the Stadium of Light.

O'Neill said: "The lads are pretty euphoric, none more so than Mr Guzan.

"He gave a fantastic performance and we are naturally delighted to have got through.

"He has been doing it for some time, I think he is a great keeper in the making.

"He has got everything and he is as brave as they come.

"He was immense tonight, he was immense in pre-season and that performance will elevate his confidence to new heights.

"You got the feeling that it would have to have been something special to beat him tonight."

I'll try to find video.

Edit - this is the only one I could find:

Ching and Rico Clark play really dirty with the Dynamo. Clark just kicked Nate Jaqua in the face.

Don't forget the geriatric keeper losing it and knocking F Money down for no reason.

I really want SSFC to hang like 3 on Houston in the 2nd.

Cesc Fabregas is amazing, this goal happened so fast after the van Persie goal they missed it live this morning. Great win for Arsenal 3-0 following the let down at West Ham. They could have put on 6 goals today if they or Eduardo was on.

Vid was taken down, but I saw the goal. It was a thing of beauty. Amazing.

It was a great touch past the last man for Cesc, but that was straight piss poor defending from Spurs, really.

They were always going to be outmatched missing their 4 best players.

Deuce makes it two straight...3-1 to Fulham over Liverpool.

God, Liverpool are terrible. What did they spend their money on? They have the depth of an MLS side.
