I'm going to try and plan to make the Honduras game, if it is, indeed, in Chicago. I might be able to make the TT game in Tennessee, too. Maybe. I desperately want to go to the game in Mexico City, but that might be a bridge too far.

So apparently these dudes are still alive.

 

We have better options than Beasley at left mid.

 

There, I said it.

Considering Dempsey has been playing out left and right and Kljestan plays on the left often, I agree totally. Not to mention Torres is in better form.

The more I think about the game on Wednesday the more I think that SGE is going to be the first Mexican coach to figure out that allowing us to dictate possession and forcing us to break down a clogged final third is a better strategy against us than what Mexican teams have been doing for 8 years.

 

I mean, SGE is no idiot. I don't think he's great, he has flaws as a coach and I wouldn't really want him to be our coach, but we're not that hard to prep for. He's had time to watch tape and prepare for us. He only lost 5 competitive games as England manager.

 

If they do that, it will be a very, very interesting match. Can we break down a defense with our attacking 6? Without Adu? With Torres? Can Sacha K. pass the ball properly against a good side?

The Washington Post (Goff) is reporting the roster for Wednesday.

 

Torres, Beasley and Jozy in.

 

Adu out.

 

Goalkeepers: Tim Howard, Brad Guzan.

 

Defenders: Carlos Bocanegra, Oguchi Onyewu, Heath Pearce, Danny Califf, Frankie Hejduk, Jay DeMerit, Marvell Wynne, Jonathan Bornstein.

 

Midfielders: Clint Dempsey, DaMarcus Beasley, Sacha Kljestan, Michael Bradley, Jose Francisco Torres, Ricardo Clark.

 

Forwards: Brian Ching, Landon Donovan, Charlie Davies, Jozy Altidore

 

Not sure how I feel about that. He needs to get the heck out of Monaco.

 

And I really wish FSC covered the Bundesliga rather than Serie A. I'd love to watch the Bayern game.

The US men's U-20 team is preparing for the Concacaf Championship in March.

I was intrigued to read that four of those youngsters were playing professionally in Europe: Bryan Arguez (Hertha Berlin), Kyle Davies (Southampton FC), Jared Jeffrey (Club Brugge, obviously the guy I was interested in) and Guiseppe Nazzani (Bologna FC). All of those sound like good places to start your pro career as a youngster.

No GOL TV, eh? It was an ok game. Subotic did a good job shutting down Klose until the 86th when he put two in before the end. Landon came on in the 70th for Toni and much like last game, put himself in good positions but never got a chance to do anything. Almost assisted on the go ahead goal but Altintop somehow put it into the 30th row despite being 10 feet out from goal.

Landon is being put in a really good position by Klinsi. Final 30 minute or so sub, his pace against tired defenders with quality around him.

 

Time Warner doesn't get GOL TV as far as I know, unless you pay like $200 for their max package.

 

No Setanta either. So it's FSC, which means on a bad day I get to watch like Lecce v. Lazio or West Brom v Sunderland.

 

The lower end of the EPL is MLS-esqe at times.
