TFC signed Sebastian Giovenco. Wow.

I always roll my eyes at MLS stating their ambition to be an elite league by 2022, but when the level of players acquired in the offseason seems to improve drastically every year, it's harder to do that. It'll take longer than 7 years, but the arrow continues to point up.

The tweets sent out about Giovenco's contract by Shipp and Andrew Wenger give me pause about the CBA, but hopefully that's just typical union posturing. Both sides would be immensely dumb to even approach a work stoppage.

But that said, TFC still haven't solved their main issue from 2014, which was the lack of a dedicated DM and a terrible backline.

Love the FA Cup. Cambridge United (League 2 side so 4th division) ties ManU and celebrates like they won a title. Makes sense because not only did they tie ManU but now they get to go play at Old Trafford.

They showed before the game that Cambridge has a total wage bill of $1.5M, which Rooney probably makes in a month or two.

Because FA cup rounds are single games, the tickets sales for the games are shared. Cambridge's share at Old Trafford is estimated at £ 1.7M (on top of the 500k they got from the first game), so no wonder they celebrated.

Crazy FA Cup day.

Middlesbrough 2, Man City 0

Bradford City 4, Chelsea 2 (Bradford is sixth in the third division)

Leicester City 2, Tottenham 1

Crystal Palace 3, Southampton 2

All four teams were at home as well.

That's great. So because of two games, Cambridge will take in twice as much money as their entire wage bill for the season.

I'll say it again, the FA Cup is awesome.

How's that going to work? Rowe, Davies, Fagundez and Bunbury are already there along with that other guy whose name I can't remember but he was a rookie.

Not saying his agent isn't an idiot, but going back to NER doesn't immediately get him on the field, unless they play on trading someone.

Rookie was Patrick Mullins who was snapped up by NYCFC in the exp draft. Davies is his only competition at the 9. He should beat him out after he knocks the rust off. They have his rights and he's signing with MLS. Maybe they'll trade him?

Btw, did you watch any of the u-20's? Cameron Carter-Vickers is a stud. Really like Hyndman (obviously) and Steffen as well.

Mullins, yeah. Forgot about NYCFC picking him up.

Davies and Agudelo play very different roles, though. Davies plays much more of a traditional #9, where Agudelo is more of the "drift wide, make runs" kind of attacker; he sucks back-to-goal.

I see him competing directly with Fagundez, Rowe and Bunbury for time as those outside attackers in Heaps' system.

Carter-Vickers is going to be a player. Not impressed with Hyndman, really. I just don't see it.

7 game losing streak.

When can we have a new coach?

Three, but who's counting?

The last time we scored a second half goal:

We get our ass kicked in the second half because Jurgen doesn't know what adjustments to make or when.

What Jurgen's defenders are missing in the process vs results argument is that most of the fans who want him out would be fine with a coach losing meaningless friendlies if they trusted that his process was sound. We're not just mad because we aren't winning every game. Every bit of evidence points to Jurgen being stubborn, confused and totally lost from camp-to-camp so how on earth can we trust his process?

We scored twice in the second half against Portugal, but your point still stands.

Kljestan to NYRB.

I was surprised to learn he's only 29 yrs old. Seems like he's been around forever at Anderlecht.
