So....that's pretty much the worst case scenario confirmed about how the senior players feel about Klinsmann and Vasquez.

Wolfie, you're right. The armband thing is now going to be very, very interesting. Nobody but Bradley should have it, and if someone with as few caps as Jones-forgetting the German-American thing-get it, there's probably going to be an even bigger schism.

If I had any faith in Gulati it would help too. If we lose the next two he doesn't have the balls to blow the whole thing up. Hopefully we have Hiddink on speed dial.

Screw Hiddink, we need someone solid who knows the pool and the American players. A Dom Kinnear type.

Bradley and Arena are still the best two managers we could possibly turn to in a crisis.

We wouldn't have time to dick around with another foreign coach who doesn't know anything about the player pool beyond what Euro club someone plays at.

Taylow Twellmen and Alexi Lalas podcast re: the Klinsmann article, upcoming quals, roster etc.: http://sports.espn.go.com/espnradio/podcast/archive?id=7779027

Check it out. It's good stuff. Listen in the link or download in iTunes.

This is what we’re trying to tell them. This is what we’re trying to introduce to them. They’re challenged,” he said. “Some guys are out of their comfort zone, absolutely. It’s not actually the coach that has to adjust to the players, to kind of think about it, ‘How do I communicate it perfectly (and) correctly to the players?’

“It’s actually the players’ job to take the information from the coach, with whatever personality the coach has and let it kind of sink into his own system. ... Now, I have to implement it in my own way. It’s a learning process, and that’s fine.

Fire this [expletive]. That's such a stupid way to think.

You know what it is? It's a world class talent who used to be able to do whatever he wanted on the field and adapt to any system because of his prodigious skill and talent and has zero clue how to coach less talented players.

There's maybe three dudes on the US roster that can handle that responsibility and freedom.

Clint's not a bad choice, but I never really thought of him as a "captain" type leader.

I really wonder if Bob's the reason MB didn't get the armband, because he's so clearly, obviously the proper choice.

"Shameful, embarrassing. You cross a line when you take your disappointment outside the inner circle."

This is why he should be the captain.

And nothing against Clint (obviously); I think it's fricking great that the guy who fought his way to where he is now gets to captain his country in WCQ's like CRC and away to Mexico. If it wasn't Bradley, I'm glad it's Deuce.

Rest of the Hex is confirmed:

•June 11 against Panama at CenturyLink Field (Seattle, Wash.)

•June 18 against Honduras at Rio Tinto Stadium (Sandy, Utah)

•Sept. 10 against Mexico at Columbus Crew Stadium (Columbus, Ohio)

•Oct. 11 against Jamaica at Sporting Park (Kansas City, Kan.)

Anyone else going to Seattle?

Great profile on Mike Bradley by Roger Bennett

http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/soccerusa/id/1888?cc=5901

Thinking Bradley is attempting to sidestep the allegations in Straus' article, I begin to ask whether the increased scrutiny was now business as usual for the USMNT, but before I could finish the question, Bradley silenced me with an outstretched arm. "I have to stop you there," he says in a way that is less combative, more a hint at the sense of moral obligation he feels around the issue. "Pressure from the outside -- from the media –- that is business as usual in other countries and it is good to have that here as football's profile rises."

He puffs out both cheeks, then proceeds to enunciate each word slowly to underline the exacting care with which he has chosen them. "Something like this ... where a group of guys speak in an anonymous way ... that is not business as usual anywhere."

I'm expecting a big game tonight from him and Dempsey.

Here's hoping Goodson and Beasley don't come back to hurt us, because one of those guys sucks, and the other is past it, and playing out of position.

Unless we're gonna run out a 3-5-2, in which case Juergen is high.

This weather is going to f us out of a win. 0-0 all over it.

No way. Dempsey is the kind of guy that will eat this [expletive] up. The back four will be a clown car, but we'll win ugly.

We win 3-2.
