Who's ready for another epic Fergie rant later today? Because we're going to get one of ManU loses today.

Nani just got a straight red card for a high kick which pretty clearly shouldn't have been (there was absolutely no intent as Nani was looking at the ball the whole time). It should have been a yellow card. It's even more inexplicable since the ref had a few seconds to think about it because Nani laid on the ground for about a minute after the collision.

Thanks to the ref for ruining the game.

I am really enjoying all of this, since it's setting up so well for the hater in me:

-Fergie's going to have a stroke after the game

-Mourhino is probably going to win Copa Del Ray and has a good shot at winning the CL in a year where the idiots at Real did their idiot thing like they always do down there at FC Hollywood Sur and he ends up with the last laugh, just like at Inter.

-Nani's not going to get his contract, which means he'll leave and have some parting shots at SAF on the way out

I'm surprised at how many good chances ManU has had since they fell behind.

Having seen a replay of Nani's red now....I mean, I understand why it was called a red, but it's hard to say what Nani could have done differently except not lift his foot high like that. That certainly gives the ref discretion to send you off, especially when something happens at that speed.

It's not a joke red like others in CL's past (van Persie's for Arsenal against Barca a couple years ago, in particular was terrible)

ESPN is rebounding from losing EPL/Champs League rights by tapping the Mexican market. They're broadcasting Liga MX games in English on ESPN 2 now with our old pal Max Bretos the pbp man. Hopefully be able to catch some Tijuana games.

I hope they expand their MLS package, too.

Inter's defense is not what it used to be (at least in the first half today). Tottenham had all the space it wanted in the attacking half and was able to dribble at will. The 2-0 scoreline is well deserved - Bale scored on an open header and Defoe had two wide open shots from 12 yards out and Sigurdsson scored on a rebound on the second one.

Bale got a yellow for diving, however, and will miss the second leg, so keeping Inter off the board will be vital. It was a soft card and probably based on his reputation (if Defoe goes down the same way, it's probably not a card) but that's what happens when you're a known diver.

Chelsea lost to Steaua Bucuresti 1-0 on the road while Newcastle tied 0-0 on the road.

EDIT: And another open header, this time for Vertonghen, makes it 3-0 early in the second half.

Could have, and probably should have, been worse.

First 2+ goal win for Tottenham since Jan. 5 against Coventry in the FA Cup and their first against a top flight team since Jan. 1 against Reading.

Fab Johnson out today with a hip injury. Edgar Castillo out too. Lichaj in key qualifiers? Yikes.

This is getting a little too much Cubs 2004 for my liking. All the players are breaking.

If I were a member of an offshore sports betting site, I would have dropped a $200 bet on KC at +120 to win in Toronto tomorrow.

That number is too good to be true.

Uh oh.

I'm glad you aren't a member of an offshore betting site
