Jol saying he's not sure Clint could start on a champion's league team, while true, is a terrible strategy for trying to get him to stay at Fulham. Tell him he can't do it and he'll try to prove you wrong.

 

That would depend on your definition of a "Champion's League team": group stages or perennial semi-finalist teams?.

I'd say there's little chance he gets "fired." However, I think there is an excellent chance he steps down at the end of the season.

 

He was brought in to stabilise and improve, as far as I recall - so I can't imagine him being in the dugout next season. He probably should have looked to move on earlier; but who will they get in his place?

Mario Balotelli is a complete clown. Officially, he picked up two yellows today but deserved a straight red and probably another yellow as well. Mancini ripped him postgame and said that Balotelli won't play again this season (and that's assuming he isn't suspended for the rest) and that City will probably try to sell him after the season.

 

He's a talented player and he's still only 21 so I'm sure there will be teams willing to give him a shot but considering the money City has, there's virtually no reason for them to put up with him anymore.

I never wanted him gone. The fan base was somewhat divided over him; however, that move was non-football related more than anything.

Three draws in their last five games and their lead has dropped from 10 to four points. And they still have to play at Barcelona on April 22.

 

On a related note, some records are going to fall. Real Madrid has scored 100 goals on the year and the record is 107. They've still got seven games left so they're probably going to blow that out of the water. Individually, both Messi and Ronaldo are likely to break Ronaldo's record for La Liga goals in a season. The mark is 40 and Messi's at 38 and Ronaldo 37. The record for most goals in a season in Europe is 67 and Messi's got 60 with 10 games left (potentially 11 if Barcelona make the Champions League final).

 

It's crazy how much better those two teams are than anyone else in Spain.

It's so disappointing to watch Tottenham throw away the Champions League like this. A couple months ago, they were up 10 points on Chelsea and 13 on Arsenal, and were playing better than anyone in the EPL.

 

Now, they're five minutes away from losing to Norwich at home.

I'm almost more impressed by the choke job City has done this season. Aresnal's turnaround has been pretty amazing, I guess I shouldn't doubt Wenger too much. Still they are another 2 players away from a serious challenge for the title next year.

I think it would be cool to see him play in the Champions League but I don't want him going to a big club and then sitting on the bench most of the time.
