That U-23 front line looked really good. Of course, that was Cuba, and they played with 10 the last 70 minutes, but...impressive.

I've got some pretty high hopes for this team. Most I have had since the 2000 team. Alos think this might be the most confident team we have ever produced.

08, with the Bradley, Holden, Kljestan, Edu midfield was much better, IMO.

No doubt, only Peter Nowak's incompetence, Castillo's (?) idiotic defending in the wall against the Oranje and Bradley's stupid decision to take a card in the 2nd group game kept that team from the medal round.

Also, the 2012 version collectively stepped on their collective crank and lost 2-0 to fricking Canada. Meaning they now have to beat an El Salvador team that only needs a tie to advance.

Oh, and if we advance, we will probably play El Tri in a do or die match.

I only see Mix, Shea and maybe Agudelo as being capable at the next level, and those three have some holes in their games as well. And our CB's are turrible. We literally have no good CB prospects in the pipe.

All of those things pale in comparison to Orozco getting red like a minute into the game on the most pointless elbow of all-time against Nigeria.

THAT's the thing I was forgetting about.

Yeah, that above all else.

-The U23s have the worst defense I've ever, ever seen. These guys suck.

-Adu is on an entirely different level than anyone else on the field in the offensive third.

-I like this Terrance Boyd thing.

Got to think Porter is done here.

Well, he no longer has a team to coach anyway. His crap doesn't work at this level with these players.

This group would have been raped in the Olympics anyway, but this really is a terrible, terrible result. Claudio Reyna also has to be held accountable. This is now 2 straight YNT failures in 2 years.

Also, did I mention how awful the defenders on this roster were? And that Porter decided to play 3 games in 6 days basically using 12 players?

Idiot.

Just saw the highlights on SportsCenter. Holy hell was the tying goal garbage.

Sean Johnson, man. Gotta stop that one.

Adu was really great, Corona has some young Deuce to his game with the atypical unpredictability and Boyd looks strong. He was Black McBride last night, down to getting cheap shotted in the nose and not letting it faze him.

This is what happens when all the power in our federation is concentrated within banana republic islands that bring exactly nothing to the table in terms of talent or revenue.

City's perfect home record is over as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Sunderland today. They scored twice late just to salvage the draw. They're now two points back of United, who have a game in hand.

The race for third and fourth also tightened as Arsenal lost and Chelsea won (scored twice late to break a 2-2 tie). Arsenal is at 58 points, Tottenham at 55 (with a game in hand) and Chelsea now at 53. And Arsenal has to play City next week at the Emirates.

Any chance Dalglish gets fired?

Liverpool is playing as poorly as anybody in the EPL right now and is 2-8-2 (eight points) in its last 12 games. While they have lost to good teams in that span (City, United, Arsenal and Newcastle), they also lost at Bolton (16th), blew a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 at QPR (18th) and lost at home to Wigan (19th). There's no chance they make the Champions League and they're down to eighth in the league as Everton has vaulted them into seventh.

On the positive side, they've locked up a Europa League spot already and even though it's the Carling Cup, they did win a trophy this year. And they're in the semis of the FA Cup so they could make it two trophies.

Even still, Liverpool was never playing anywhere close to as poorly as this under Hodgson and he still got canned. I realize that he's a club legend so he's got a longer leash, but I would think he wouldn't last much longer if he can't turn things around.
