Apparently Barcelona-Real Madrid isn't being shown live on Wednesday. FSC is airing a replay of Saturday's Liverpool-Birmingham City game instead and then showing the Champions League on tape delay after.

Awesome, thanks. I never would have thought to check that channel.

Man U is annihilating Schalke right now except they can't score. They've had at least six great chances but Neuer has been amazing in goal for Schalke. On another day, or with a different goalkeeper, Man U could be up three or four goals.

New CONCACAF World Cup 2014 qualifying proposal

Summary:

- Five preliminary two-leg matches: Montserrat v Belize, Anguilla v Dominican Republic, U.S. Virgin Islands v British Virgin Islands, Aruba v St. Lucia and Bahamas v Turks and Caicos Islands.

- Five winners plus teams 7-25 in FIFA rankings placed into 6 groups of 4 teams for double round-robin group play. Those other 19 teams: Antigua, Barbados, Bermuda, Canada, Cayman Islands, Curacao, Dominica, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Panama, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago

- Six group winners join the remaining top 6 (USA, Mexico, Honduras, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Cuba) in a semifinal of 3 groups of 4 teams in a double round robin.

- Top two finishes of each group advance to the hex. Top 3 finishers in the hex qualify for the World Cup, with the fourth place finisher getting a playoff against another federation team for a spot.

So, the USMNT would play 16 qualifying matches instead of 18, essentially eliminating 2 games against Barbados or an equivalent.

I like it, mainly because it keeps the Hex and our two qualifying matches against Mexico. No need to play those two extra games against crap like Barbados and hopefully we can schedule a couple good friendlies instead.

Looks like Real will only get to destroy 1 trophy this year.

That game was awful to watch. I know diving and acting hurt is part of the game now but it was ridiculous how much Pedro and Busquests did today. That plus Barcelona surrounding the ref after every call was disgraceful.

The 2nd Messi goal was brilliant though.

Barcelona is the worst team to watch in international club football. Nothing but diving, whining and non stop carping at the ref.

Mourinho is right on about them. I hope that crap United side beat them

My thoughts exactly. It's a disgrace how much both teams complain about fouls. Every foul that could have gotten a yellow card, there were six players on each team surrounding the ref. And this happened in the last two also.

They need to institute a rule where only the players involved (player fouled and player doing the fouling) and the captains can talk to the referee after a foul call. Any other player gets a yellow. Because this crap is ridiculous.

Watching Barcelona-Real is supposed to be fun because it's two of the best teams in the world but it's a chore to get through parts of the match because of all the complaining. And all it does is waste time because the ref has to get the 12 players away from him before he can get the game started again.

Ohh hell, the ref had to get 12 players away from him just to hand out the cards.

I hope you guys are ready for the Mexican stretcher game. Fun.

Will it be more or less blatant than the Ghana players?

Nothing on earth is as awful as that was. Twice.
