Have you noticed any buzz in Dallas? Apparently their crowd for the opener was really strong.

They did sell out last week. But I have always found it hard to tell because of the location in a suburb of north Dallas but it is one of the best areas to be in. The FC Dallas youth program seems to be very strong, and soccer in general is huge here. But they don't get the local publicity because of the Mavericks and Cowboys. However I have seen more ad's on tv than ever the past couple of months, and I was very happy with the results I saw from the World Cup. We have probably over 10 indoor complex's in the metroplex and playing once or twice a week I see it all of the time. All in all I think they could be on the same level as the Stars in the next couple of years.

I'm probably going to tailgate some and watch the US v Argentina match before the game.

The company I work for has an office in Frisco like a mile from the metroplex. I'd love to fill in there for a week and check out a game if they ever needed me too.

Watching this clip from Fulham's website honoring Clint's record setting goals: http://www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsArticles/2011/March/Dempsey10Goals.aspx

It struck me how incredible he is as a player. Brek Shea in Dallas is a perfect example of what I'm talking about too. These guys are so sublimely skilled that coming up in the youth system in the US, they never really find a position because coaches plug them in where they most need their talent to fit their system. Clint's transformation over the last 5 years has been astounding. In MLS, he was the attacking midfielder that scored beautiful, sublime goals and spent a ton of time on the ball. Playing with Fulham, he can still do that, but he's added the aerial dimension and the lightning quick decision making that has turned him into the most well-rounded attacking player we've ever produced. Landon is still faster and a better passer, but Clint can do it all. In the air he's as good as McBride. On the ground he's as good as Landon. As a poacher he's quicker than Wynalda. He's done all of this while learning how to play multiple positions and fighting for a permanent spot that he's never really had the luxury of finding due to coaching turnover.

Frisco is a beautiful area now. It has grown from under 10,000 people 10 years ago to pushing 100,000 now and was the highest $ per square foot in terms of retail sales in the country a couple of years ago. The AA Rough Riders are about 1 mile south of them. For me its one of the top 3 suburbs in DFW to live.

Last year FCD didn't have a ticket staff, apparently, which murdered their efforts to market the team. This past offseason they really worked their lists hard, and it paid off.

Dallas should be an awesome market, and PHP is a nice place. Hopefully their attendance continues to stay strong.

I know the home opener had $2 beer, that will help drive sales too.

I want to like that kit, but it looks like T&T's kit. Somethings....off about it.

Crap! It does. I liked the vertical stripe they had better.

The two thin blue lines need to be white instead of blue. Or keep the two thin blue lines but make the wide stripe white.

I think the latter would make a big difference.

Someone on BS posted a pic showing every USMNT kit ever. The sash actually appears a bunch of times, so it Nike's trying to establish that as our tradition, I get it and am fine with it, but the all-obsidian sash is just off.

I wonder if the lettering will be gold or black.

I'm tired of the sash, I want to see something new.

Still my favorite:

The photoshop looks a lot better than the actual pictures of the jersey.

US v the undisputed heavyweight champs on June 4 at Foxboro.

I love summer soccer in our country these days. Barca, Ajax, Everton, Spain, Manchester United, the Gold Cup and all the hot MLS action you can handle my friends.

Looks like a great atmosphere in New Jersey, more so after that equalizer.

Hell of an effort so far by Howard to keep the US alive.

It took about 40 seconds after turning this game on to get pissed at the stupid latin gamesmanship.

edit: hahahaha Donovan
