Im up for resigning Pierre.. the guy is red hot..

He's still just the 18th best centerfielder despite his recent hot streak.

man...If we could get DeJesus...that would be sweet.

And maybe turn and trade DeJesus to another team for another HOFer 2B, perhaps?

8)

Joe Morgan's available?

Nah, but I do have a bottle of Captain Morgan available.

Barrett flies out to center field

W: Carpenter

L: Mateo

We still own the St. Louis Cards, and the Cubs should CUT OFF all water in the clubhouse, just to piss off the Cards as they leave Chicago for the final time. Have them leave Chicago in a stinky mood.

I think Izturis can be an asset. If there is one position that a good defensive player is a necessity it is SS. He can become an even bigger asset if this team is improved upon during the offseason. He's not going to be a great offesnive player, but I do think he is /can be better than many give him credit for. His value is in his defensive ability, which with a stronger team around him will be much needed.

I agree that guys like Neifi and Izturis have value on teams that have the ability to score runs.

However, playing much of the season without Izturis, the Cubs are the 4th best defensive team in MLB. Playing much of the season without Izturis, the Cubs are dead last in runs scored.

Defense was not the problem with this roster. Instead of filling a hole, Hendry has created more holes for him to field. Hendry solved a problem that didn't exist.

though loss...thanks for that rally killer Izturis.

Just strike out next time ok.

Maybe Dusty will finally come to understand that speed does not always equal OBP...or does Dusty even know what OBP is???

How did he create more holes with the Izturis trade?

Because trading for Izturis moves Ronny to second.

I'm not convinced that Ronny is guaranteed a starting job next year.

I'm also not convinced about that, and the Neifi trade has reinforced that in my mind. I think they have Ronny penciled in as the backup middle infielder next season in Neifi's newly departed spot.

they said yesterday taht barrett was pretty shaken up after fridays game, i guess someone slid into him or something

The Cardinals' Annoyingly Lovable Midget tried to plow him over on a play at the plate.
