My 12-year old baseball coach told me this many times during the season:

Take until he throws you a strike.

Stupid Cubs.

Your 12 year old is a baseball coach?

Last post before I fall asleep:

Would it be harmful to pitch Rich Hill again tomorrow out of the pen? He threw only 28 pitches, and would be his day to pitch, with 4 off days before his next start.

Posted
Well if he's take off the 60 day DL, then wed be at 40

I see that. looking at the 40 man pitchers and who pitched lately, gotta be either Marshall or Miller, unless they move Lee and/or Wood to the 60 day DL and add someone else to the 40 man.

Marshall's injury wasn't arm related. if his mechanics are in tune, I think he could give us 4-5 without much of a problem, even though short rest and on rehab.

Hahah...I meant the baseball coach I had when I was 12-years old...

Those 18 innings did a number on me.

Since Wood's out for the rest of the year anyway, there would be no reason not to move him to the 60-day. Lee I'm not sure about, if they're still holding out hope for him returning this year.

At least his velocity hit 90 last time out...

Yeah, I think Wade Miller will be called up. He's supposed to go for Iowa tomorrow. The two guys on the 40-man for Iowa - Jerome Williams and Jae-Kuk Ryu - went on Sunday and Monday (yesterday) respectively.

So who WAS pitching in the next few days who will now NOT beable to pitch. And who will we likely see because of that?

Will we likely have to replace 2 pitchers for their next starts? Possibly seeing. .

Miller

Ryu?

You guys go to sleep really early. :P

Kudos to my old roommate (SF Giants fan in San Jose, CA) for texting me and asking if I was watching. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have known - I started watching in the 14th...

Fun to beat Houston. I listened to the XM Astros pre-game driving home, and they were way too chirpy about Clemens vs. Mateo.

I couldn't hope but think that if the positions were reversed and the Cubs were facing some no-name pitcher, I wouldn't be nearly so pleased about it.

Honestly. I don't goto sleep normally until about 5. a.m. It is early for me. In 2 senses.

Wade Miller seems the obvious first choice.

Sean Marshall pitched on rehab on Friday - 4-days rest would leave him ready for tomorrow (but he's on rehab and didn't look particularly good last time out). Jerome Williams pitched on Sunday and after 4-days rest would be ready on Friday. Jae-Kuk Ryu pitched yesterday and would be ready on Saturday.

EDIT: Looks like with the Thursday off day, the Cubs were going to skip Angel anyways.

Yeah, no rest for the Z.

It was very cute to see Z and the pitchers waving their rally caps in the dugout. Awww. Cubs fans really could go for a youth movement as long as Z led the charge.

Nice, I'm not surprised though he speaks very highly of Murton. Brenly would be a huge improvement over Baker. At least he realizes working counts and taking walks.
