This may have been mentioned in one of the game threads, but Nic Jackson has a "very bad" hip flexor injury. Ron said on tonight's pre-game show that there's a strong possibility that he could wind up missing the rest of the season.

I knew he was on the DL (I checked the Djaxx web site because I was curious since he didn't play in the Carolina series), but I didn't know why. That's too bad, but at least it doesn't sound like an injury that should affect him beyond this year, unlike his past injuries.

I'm not so sure about that, a hip flexor injury has a range of effects. He could have problems driving off that leg while running, if it's his back leg he probably wouldn't be able to drive off of it in the batter's box either. Much of your lower abdominal strength can also be tied in to your hip flexor.

And in equally stunning news, the sun rose in the East this morning.
