I'm glad fans in this city have decided to actually do something during the dead times in games that makes some noise. Maybe I'm spoiled by soccer, but the atmosphere at our sporting events is really tame in comparison to an average soccer crowd.

The wave, singing, chanting, clapping...I'm all for it, it it brings some noise and energy to the experience.

How am I going to hear my cell phone when people are making noise?

Quoting someone who said it better than me.

"The problem with the wave is that once it gets started, it's divorced from what is happening on the field. You have a bunch of people doing the wave, and the opposing team scores a run, and they're still doing it."

Different sporting events, different atmospheres. I'm going to go nuts at the Bruin Den at Pauley or the Rose Bowl, but that's to be expected (and I'll still watch the game). But this sort of going nuts has nothing to do with the wave, which is stupid.

Leave the wave to Dodger fans.

I watched Luis Gonzalez hit a HR for the DBacks hit at Dodger Stadium and when he came home, you could see the wave passing him by in the stands.

People show emotion at the Rose Bowl? It seems like they are always sitting on their hands to me.

Good point. I guess you need to have an attentive fanbase. Maybe the pace of baseball doesn't lend itself to that sort of thing.

Now that I believe! I think you need more of you guys though because that's one big stadium.

The problem is Pasadena is 25 miles from campus. I never had a problems since my mom lived 10 minutes away, but it can be a pain to get on the shuttle buses or drive that far to a game.

The wave at Wrigley? I guess people aren't taking those Old Style Ads to heart.

Those ads are so bad. "Johnny from Schaumberg" probably started the Wave just to spite CJ Reynolds.

I'm really getting tired of all the Biffs and Trixies who spend most of the game talking on their cell phone or text messaging.
