1. J Pierre, CF .280 1 25 38

2. C Izturis, SS .200 0 0 0

3. M Barrett, C .338 13 42 0

4. A Ramirez, 3B .273 25 72 1

5. P Nevin, 1B .254 9 24 0

6. J Jones, RF .288 17 52 6

7. M Murton, LF .294 5 37 4

8. R Cedeno, 2B .252 3 25 6

9. C Zambrano, P .191 4 9 1

Was just thinking how much turnover this team really has. In this lineup:

-1 player from 2002

-2 players from 2003

-3 players from 2004

-5 players from 2005

Why did Izturis have his stats reset? He was already in the NL.

The sad thing is that they aren't much different from before.

Is there some "Old School" rule that states a MI must bat 2nd?

Apparently there's some rule that Dusty and Tracy both follow that states that a team's crappiest hitters should bat 1st and 2nd.

1. Duffy .244 (the CF hits leadoff, dude)

2. McLouth .294

3. Sanchez .382

4. Bay .411

5. Nady .326 (Mets)

6. Hernandez .314

7. Castillo .323

8. Paulino .358

Yep, it's probably really good strategy to put the two worst OBP guys at the top of the order. It worked so well for the Cubs last year.

Baker absolutely sucks at many different aspects of the game (showing his versatility), but it's not as if Tracy is a genius, either.

Because they dont want the Cubs fans that dont know how bad he is to realize how bad he is?

He's a gold glover and an all-star. That's all anyone needs to know.

While watching the Cards meltdown last nigt and hearing the greatest fans in baseball boo their division leading team, I heard Al Hrabosky say, "What do the Cardinals and Cubs have in common? Neither has won a world championship in their new ballpark."

They're obsessed with us.

Hopefully they won't be division-leading for much longer, though no one seems to want to win this division.

Well, I sort of understand. Chicago has dumped on St. Louis for quite some time.

I'm rooting for the Reds to take the division.

Top 2ND B:3 S:1 O:2

Ronny Paulino singles on a sharp ground ball to shortstop Cesar Izturis. Xavier Nady scores. Jose Castillo to 2nd.

Defense. Wins. Ballgames.

Just for clarity, that ball was hit off Zambrano's leg and deflected to Izturis at SS. No chance to make a play.

Thanks Bruno..it's hard watching Gamecast and knowing exactly what happens..can somebody describe to me the 2 Cedeno plays? I think one was in the second and 1 was in the 3rd-what has happened?

Pittsburgh did well on that Nady deal.

I think so too. Will be interesting to see what he can do with consistent playing time, something he hasn't really had a lot of between SD and NYM.
