No doubt he reinvented the position...

did pagan really steal home?

No and yes. He stole home due to the fact there was a rundown (Cedeno) between first and second allowing Pagan to steal home.

Note: There was a balk and each runner should have moved up. But, the umps missed the call.

thanks for the info. i figured it wasn't a straight steal of home, but was curious.

Not on your life. If Ozzy played today, he wouldn't even start for most teams.

Why? Because of his glove and he could steal bases? Amazing defensive player, but I don't believe in putting a guy who put up these career numbers on the HOF:

AVG: .262

HR: 28

RBI: 793

OBP: .337

SLG: .328

Career 123 wins above replacement player. Ernie Banks, for example, also career 123 WARP. There are several shortstops that probably shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame (thank the Veterans Committee), but Ozzie isn't one of them.

Is it just me or has the Cubs success against the Cards to this point (or more accurately, the Cards' penchant for sucking against the Cubs) made this season even more frustrating?

Gee, Joe, I didn't know the Cubs lost in the 2003 NLCS against Juan Pierre and the Marlins. Keep telling me about it. Pierre triple! Nice!
