Shocking Story (non-Cub related)

I was surfing through rotoworld and found this story and thought it was worth sharing for those who haven't seen it:

Christopher Hobdy of the Rookie GCL Dodgers was arrested Wednesday night after being accused of breaking into several suites at Dodgertown and stealing credit cards and cash from his teammates.

Hobdy, who reportedy admitted to the crimes after being presented with hidden camera footage, was charged with seven counts of burglary and six counts of petit theft. He's being held on $146,000 bond. The 2005 seventh-round pick had not pitched in the minors this season. He gave up 12 runs in 5 1/3 innings for the GCL Dodgers last year.

That's quite a fall from 7th round pick this, and stealing fromm his teammates no less. I don't think he'll ever play ball again; I know I'd feel uncomfortable if he was my teammate.

Wow, that's messed up.

I vaguely remember some pro football player being accused of stealing something from his teammates' locker a few years ago, but this is pretty bad.

i remember that too. for the saints I think. dante stallworth?

It was James Thrash, and to make it worse, he tried to play if off as a "Rookie Hazing".

Unless James Thrash was involved in an incident I am unaware of, I believe the player in question was Albert Connell (who played with James Thrash while with the Redskins). Worse yet, he had just signed a big contract (5 years / 14 mil) with the Saints when he was caught stealing money from Deuce McCallister. He was soon released (thus forgoing 12 million dollars of his 14 million dollar contract) and his NFL career was effectively over -- this from a guy who, not 2 years earlier, had caught 62 passes for over a 1000 yards and 7 TDs and had showy yards per catch totals.

Here's an article with more detail:

Last I heard, he washed out of the Canadian Football League.
