I'm not positive with Daytona due to all their rainouts.

Dope with an RBI single in the 1st to drive in EPatt who reached on an error, stole second, and advanced to third when Lewis reached on an error.

Lewis, Dopirak, Jackson, and Sing hit 4 singles in a row and Fox hits a sac fly to go up 3-0 in the bottom of the 3rd. Montgomery responds with 2 runs of their own in the top of the 4th.

Veal's night is done. Hunton gives up a hit to break up the no-no. After a walk and 3 WPs, the shutout is gone to. After 6, Daytona is up 3-1.

His final line: 5 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 9/4, WP, ERA down to 1.03.

Veal so far: 5 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 9 K, WP

Not too shabby. My only complaint is 4 walks.

You just can't please some people.

I may be wrong but I think I recall reading that Veal has a Willis-esque delivery except not such a high leg kick.

What makes Veal such a dominating pitcher? Does he have Overpowering fastball, deceptive delivery???

91-94 mph FB, plus 12-6 curve, average circle change...very deceptive delivery.

His deliever isn't as extreme as Willis', but Veal has some funk to his motion and his long arms make his pitches difficult to pick up.

Daytona wins it 3-1 (7 inning game), Schappert gets the save.

I didn't mean that as an actual serious complaint. I was just saying that if you had to find something negative about his outing, that was it.
