Lineup per ESPN1000:

Pierre, CF

Walker, 2B

Lee, 1B

Ramirez, 3B

Jones, RF

Barrett, C

Pagan, LF

Cedeno, SS

Maddux, P

As I reported in transactions, Prior is on the DL, Theriot up.

Why in the "bleeeeeeeeeeeep" does this idiot insist on playing guys who don't have along term future with the Cubs. Play Murton already you moron.

I think you got to give Pagan and Murton a shot. Both show promise.

Pagan hasn't shown a thing. But I wouldn't be surprised if the Cubs thought he had a long term future with the team. They like unproductive athletes.

Is it just me or is the hottest hitter on our team batting 6th? Why would you put Barrett that far down in the order? He's got an 1.114 OPS in July.

You judge that on 40 AB's?

I won't speak for goony, but I've come to the same conclusion based on about 2000 less than impressive ABs in the minors.

No one is going to argue that those numbers are good, but they don't suggest that he will be useless in the majors.

bad minor league numbers + bad major league numbers = bad major league player (99% of the time).

Speaking of minor league numbers how 'bout that Rich Hill!

amazing minor league numbers (ie hill) >>>>>>>>>> bad minor league numbers (ie pagan).

OK, ESPN is showing ESPNEWS here on our cable in Des Moines right now. If ESPN has blacked out the coverage here in this area I'm going to be severely pissed since we don't get CSN here.

that's why i had to get directv.

I don't get CSN for some stupid reason either.

Yeah, I just saw the note on the bottom of the ESPNEWS screen saying they won't be showing the game in the Chicago area. I guess even though we're 400 miles away, we're in the area here in Des Moines.

What the f***!! We've already got ESPNEWS on one of the stations on our cable, what the hell is the problem with showing regular ESPN right now? Now I have 2 channels of recycled sports news. Yay.

I don't understand why it is blacked out in the first place. It's not like there's another game they can show!

The Mets channel's studio guys have "thrown it out to Wrigley field" about twenty times so far without actually showing anything related to the game. They were talking about the Yankees 2nd half about 10 minutes ago.

It would be blacked out in any area where Cubs or Mets broadcasts would be able to cover, even if your system doesn't have that channel.

ESPNnews is on ESPN right now because the game is on SNY (the Mets new channel).

Did Steve Stone just say that nobody has ever come back from a lead like the Mets have this season? They are 12 games ahead-haven't there been at least 2 or 3 instances where teams have come back from those kinds of deficits in August?

Fun with black outs, I'm sitting in the city of Chicago with no CSN and ESPN blacked out. Makes no sense. I probably wouldn't have watched the whole game, but It would be nice to have the option :)
