TOOL!!!!!! To me, they are like the Radiohead or Beatles of industrial rock/metal. They are so innovative with their sounds and do such new things within their genre.

Second, Danny Carey is a FREAK on the drums.

Third, in high school and college, my walkout song for baseball was the opening of "Sober"

Fourth...the lyrics from "Aenima"

F**k L Ron Hubbard and

F**k all his clones.

F**k all these gun-toting

Hip gangster wannabes.

Learn to swim.

F**k retro anything.

F**k your tattoos.

F**k all you junkies and

F**k your short memory.

Learn to swim.

F**k smiley glad-hands

With hidden agendas.

F**k these dysfunctional,

Insecure actresses.

Learn to swim.

Cuz I'm praying for rain

And I'm praying for tidal waves

I wanna see the ground give way.

I wanna watch it all go down.

Mom please flush it all away.

I wanna see it go right in and down.

I wanna watch it go right in.

Watch you flush it all away.

These guys are pretty even for me, but I voted for the Peppers because Stadium Arcadium is such a good album

Wow. I knew RHCP had fans, but *dayum*

I expected a better showing from Tool. Calling a choke-o-matic on the Toolsters right here. Too much partying the night before game time

Tool is probably the best band still in existance today. A 9 seed is pitiful.

That said, Danny Carey is the best rock drummer alive, and ranks in the top 10 of all drummers. If you've studied percussion at all you'd realize what an absolute genius he is. His playing is the absolute definition of drumming as an art form.

I like RHCP, don't get me wrong, but against Tool they're a garage band.

Absolutely....the guy is a complete freak of nature behind his trapset.

I spent about 10 years studying percussion and at least 15 playing the drums and I simply can't stand Tool (not my genre). Thus, I haven't listened to a ton of Carey, but I'd disagree that he's the best rock drummer alive.

He's WAY WAY up there. He's just soooo effortless almost. His timing never falters no matter how fast or how offbeat his fills are.

Could very well be. I was disagreeing more with the way MCON made his opinion out to be the end-all-be-all. I think reasonable people can differ on who the best living drummer, or any other musician, is. I also don't think you have to have studied or even played a particular instrument to have a reasonable opinion about it.

i like tool, but RHCP blows them out of the water, completely

They're music catalog is so diverse its crazy, their early stuff is great in that parliament machofunk type way, then theres blood sugar sex magik, one of the greatest albums of the early 90's, then there new stuff which ranges from hard rock, to melodic rock, to psychadelic stuff, and even now they have some funk tracks. Seriously, i have a nonstop, unhealthy addiction to these guys.

Without listening to it, how can you make that judgement?

RHCP, definitely. Minus Californication and By The Way, everything else they have put out has been nothing short of great. Easy vote.

what didn't you like about Californication, i can understand BTW since it turned off alot of people, but Californication was one of their better albums in my mind.
