Is anyone listening to the radio? Santo is *really* irritated.

"Why does every opposing pitcher look like Cy Young against us?"

To be fair, Capuano is pretty friggin' good.

And to be fair, the Cubs are pretty friggin' bad.

Nice baserunning Aram. Way to jog to first and then try to get a triple. Smart baseball.

at least once in the past several consecutive games, Santo has had occasion to simply scream "WHY???" -- it's his only commentary for like 10 seconds after some plays -- i know i shouldn't laugh

aramis going for a triple. doesnt seem like a smart thing

IF he hadn't been loafing out of the box he might have made it. Instead, he assumed the HR and went into his trot until he got around 1B.

I've been listening for 1 1/2 innings, and I'm already sick of the Brewers announce team.

Why does everybody in baseball defend Dusty Baker?

The only argument they every make is something like:

Dusty didn't get thrown out at third.

Dusty didn't blow that save.

etc.

If the manager doesn't make a difference, why are we paying ours $4 million a year?

I have to agree with the idea that Dusty isn't playing for the team. If they do something dumb or are ineffective it's on the players. Dusty is responsible for strategic blunders however.

What happens when everything they do is either dumb or ineffective?

An easy rule to remember -

Never make the first or third out at third base.

I learned that when I was 8. Could someone please pass that memo on to Aramis Ramirez?

Followup question, then (not specifically for you):

If Dusty's bad strategy is the problem, why do most of the posters here keep suggesting managers known for the same type of strategic blunders?

Duh, managers are only there to help make players better. If a player improves, it's because the manager taught him, if the player doesn't improve it's because he's bad.
