You know when he comes in, he needs AT LEAST one run, obviously more at this point. But he cannot close a game without giving up a run. This time he took us within a run from the Promised Land then pulled out the rug. I actually was believing he could do it! He's gotta go. What is it with the Cubs and their HORRIBLE closers?

Yea, so was Randy Meyers...

Think it was the 98 season when he blew three big saves in a row at home. The last was on Randy Meyers day when they were giving away posters of him. The game was delayed for about 10 min after he blew that save from everyone in the OF giving him the posters back.

Its hard to go out with the same intenisity when the team dosent give a rats rump as opposed to beliving you can win.

hes not bad.... he just likes to load the bases everytime he closes...

he prolly figures,

"im not gonna get to close many games this season, because we are gonna be down by 6 runs, so when i am in the game i gotta make it interesting"

him giving up runs is his idea of a good save, to him a 1-2-3 inning is just "boring"

Demp is actually very sympathetic to us, and is intentionally screwing up to get Dusty fired.

If he is, more power to him. At least someone on the team realizes the Dust Bag has to go.

Dempster's gotta be hurt. You don't just go from being that good to being that bad so quickly without something being wrong.

That's the nature of relief pitching. A starter has 2 bad outings in the same amount of innings a reliever throws in 6 outings.

I hope this is true.

No matter how much I dislike Baker (which is a LOT), I would never want a player on my team who would ever intentionally lose a game for any reason. Dusty is going to lose his job the old fashioned way and I don't think he needs any help at this point.

Considering the Cubs' history of signing accomplished relievers only to see them flame out utterly and spectacularly for reasons never having to do with injury over the last few seasons I'm surprised that you're surprised. It's gotten to the point when I am surprised if a Cubs signing actually DOES perform (like Jacque this season so far).

The faster the Dust Bag is out of here, the better.
