You can't make this stuff up. Absolutely classic. He signed a contract with the San Diego Surf Dawgs (yes, that's right, Dawgs) of the independent Golden Baseball League.

"We strive to provide a high quality entertainment product, and Jose will undoubtedly be entertaining for our fans," GBL president Amit Patel said in a statement.

I've been laughing for the past 5 minutes about this.

Canseco will make $2500 per month. Is that even enough to pay for his steroids?

There are approximately 430295 jokes that can be made about this.

No doubt hoping to hit well and get a major league team to take a flyer on him.

Don't hold your breath Jose. Though, I could see a team that's already out of it and who, unlike the Cubs, still don't have 30K showing up every game, giving him a roster spot to just draw in fans. Like the Pirates or Royals I suppose.

Also, don't miss that they're also doing a licensing agreement for apparel, that's where he'll make a lot more than 2500K.

The article said he going to be a DH and he is also going to pitch. He throws a knuckle ball and I think if he has any success pitching, some ML team will give him a try. I would love to see him pitch to Bonds!

By knuckleball, I think they mean when he's gonna pitch his arm will dislocate itself and make it across the plate thus making it a "knuckle" ball.
