OK, I've got the game on right now, third (miserable) inning. Jones makes an error in right (on the throw), Walker and Nevin part the Red Sea and let the ball go through and Neifi juggles one but gets lucky. It's AWFUL. Like Brenly just said, "If you can stay in a game with the Cubs, eventually they'll melt down and beat themselves...." HOW TRUE! It's just SICK. I give up.....

Its almost like they don't bother practicing fundamentals or fielding...

No it's that nobody keeps them accountable to playing the right way. Nothing will be said to them, or if something is said it will be behind closed doors. Eventually you have to call them out to the media like Leyland did when Detroit played a game the way the Cubs are playing right now. Leyland said it was unaccpetable to play like that and it wasn't going to happen anymore. Hmmmm....calling your players out what an idea.

Speaking of Brenly quotes today...He was reffering to the Cubs patients at the plate and said that the opposing pitchers "could throw the rosin bag and the Cubs would swing at it".

How true.

yeah I was laughing for a while when he said that. it's like he is trying to manage from the booth by getting under players skin because he feels bad for the fans because our actual manager has no clue what is going on.

What I find really funny is that the guys who are supposed to be really bad at fielding, ARam and Murton, haven't been that bad this year. ARam only has something like 3 errors and today's error was only Murton's 2nd (although if you ask some of these people he never catches the ball). While others have become worst, Perez, Jones...

Maybe this has been talked about elsewhere but I was back and forth between the TV and Twins radio on XM last night. The Twins radio guys were openly mocking the Cubs batting approach on the radio. Just embarrassing.

Wow Brenly has earned my respect with todays broadcast he has been grilling this team and it is well deserved.

Bet the Cubs' next move is to fire Brenly.

His embarassing the Cubs live is the reason they are losing.

By the way, I'm sure Dusty will be all over Murton for his error, but the errors by Neifi (two of them), Nevin, Walker and Jones will go unspoken because they are veterans.

Honestly, this has been the best broadcast of the year. I'm watching the game not for the Cubs, but to see what Brenly says next.

He is absolutely disgusted and it's been enjoyable watching him shred the Cubs on national television.

Well of course. Once you're a member of the Baker Country Club you are a member for life.

He knows this is a sinking ship and you're right....it's nice to hear. I'm sure this will mean the Cubs will be on WGN 5-10 times next year because of the really mean things Bob has said.

Agreed. But, Chippy and Steve are working elsewhere for stating the obvious. I wonder which veteran player will be calling the booth today from the clubhouse?

The only thing missing from today's game is someone to kick the ball into the ivy in Wrigley instead of picking it up and throwing it in.

Luckily, Bob and Len can rent a car to get home from the Twin Cities when the team refuses to let them on the team plane.

I'd hate it if it happened, but could you imagine if, say, Howry and Jock called the booth to rip into Brenly and Len...and then Brenly was named the new manager in the offseason?

Holy wow would that be massively awkward.

Almost as awkward as Brad Radke shutting out the Cubs with his "junk".

16th start of the year. FIRST time he has not allowed a run! Who woulda thunk it.

Baker and his staff need to be fired not only for the lack of fundamentals, but it is obvious that this team has quit on Baker. If he says nobody on this team has quit, he needs to be fired for being blind and stupid. I've defended Hendry in the past, but something drastic needs to be done by the All-Star break.

Honestly, it's about time our announcers start calling this team out. There's only so much you can cherry coat somethign before you lose it.
