My team is currently holding up the very last place in my division. What can I do to make this team better? I've tried trading Sexson for some pitching talent but have gotten very little in the way of offers (a.k.a. one bad offer). I know alot of my problem is half my team is injured, but still. What can I do to improve this team. I'm open to suggestions.

(This is all under the assumption this is a 12 team or less league)

Fire sale. There's not enough there to enter the top half of your league.

See what kind of demand is out there for Kenny Rogers and Jorge Posada. Get anything you can for Sean Casey, Grudz, and Kenny Lofton. Should probably sell off Walker if you get a decent prospect in return.

And stop drafting Cubs.

Allright, well I made a few moves over the past couple days.

Firstly I made a trade with another member of my league (who is sitting around the middle of the pack this year). I sent Brad Wilkerson and Kenny Rogers to him in exchange for Gary Sheffield, Livan Hernandez, and Brian Anderson (who is elligable to stay in the minor league system untill the end of this season). Obviously it was a "next-year" trade for me, as sheffield is on the shelf till september, and Wilkerson/rogers will help him now.

Then I dropped Brandon Backe and picked up Aaron Cook.

Finally I Sent Jered Weaver back down to the minors and recalled Jonathon Broxton.

So, Assuming the deal I just made isnt vetoed, which it shouldnt be, This is what my new updated team looks like:

At the moment, I am in deliberations w/ another manager to possibly send Posada plus some away for some young talent. But I wont discuss that yet since many of the league members post here.

Anyways; I'm looking for comments/suggestions. So again, HELP.

I have one open spot on my big league team and two on my minor league squad, which still needs some fixing.

As far as the big leagues go, I just completed a big trade that I think will really help me in the future. I traded Jered Weaver and Jhonny Peralta (who i picked up off the scrap heap last year, WooT!) to the second place team for Ramon Hernandez, Troy Glaus, Torii Hunter, and Dustin McGowan.

I'm still looking around to see what i can get for Brandon Webb, I'm looking for another big bat. I'd still like to upgrade, in center and at second especially. But what do you guys think of my team at this point? Also, do you guys have any suggestions as to a Minor leaguer i might want to pick up (notice, all 12 teams have a 15 man minor league system, so all the obvious guys are gone)

Thanks for the help and i love comments...

If you aren't competing for anything this year, it probably doesn't matter. But, I'd get rid of all the part time players, either by dumping them or trading for a full time player.

Walker, Murton, Lofton to name a few. Murton might be someone to stow away on your bench, but Lofton and Walker may never be regulars again.

Why wouldn't Walker? Just because the Cubs are stupid doesn't mean all every other major league team will be stupid.

How did you manage to get such a poor outfield?

You've gotta find a way to get Shelton in your lineup, especially one with Sexson and Murton.

Actually i have shelton starting and murton sitting for encarnacion at the moment, i just pulled that roster over from the league message board, I keep it up to date as of which players are on my team, but not really who i have starting and who i dont.

Also, I dont think my outfield is all that bad anymore. Catalanotto, Hunter, Sheffield, and Hawpe isnt bad, imo. At least not as bad as it was before.

Oh, and BBB, i think you need to check out the roster I just posted...I dont have Lofton on my team anymore....

And no, i'm not competing for anything at the moment, i'm retooling for next year

In one league, I traded Manny Ramirez, Jake Peavy, Corey Patterson, and Nomar Garciaparra for Jon Lester, Anibal Sanchez, Delmon Young, Lastings Milledge, Ryan Braun, Justin Huber, and Hanley Ramirez.

Needless to say, my team this year sucks.
