I don't think most people in Chicago know how fortunate they are to be able to go to a major league baseball game for what is intended. A baseball game. Go to any other stadium and you are lamblasted with the jumbo-thron blasting, leading false cheers, and any other such obcenities. Wrigley field is the way baseball was meant to be watched.

I know what you mean on that. I went to Miller park last year and sat too close to the speaker...and was deaf for a week. They have interviews of fans and all sorts of loud music playing....it was strange. I still wonder if you did incorporate something like a video screen into Wrigley, would all that other stuff come along with it? I personally don't think so.

Apparently some of you have missed the fact that they already do the sponsored half-inning races on the small video board under the scoreboard.

The tractor race and whatever else they do is easily ignorable on the small board right now. On a large jumbotron, you can't really escape either the video nor the blaring audio.

You know how they say that the average American views 3,000+ advertising messages a day? Heck, you can get that many in a simple 3-hour baseball game at the Cell or so many other "modern" ballparks. If I wanted to see that many ads, I'd duck tape my head to my TV.

We need to remember that modern doesn't mean good. What makes Wrigley the best stadium in all of sports is that you get to watch the game in its purest form, without the ear-splitting ACDC, revolving advertising billboards, pizza races, the "hey, let's watch the stupid people wave at the camera" cams, stock tickers, t-shirt shooters, Mr. T promos (courtesy of the Cell), and oh yeah, a friggin US Cellular phone store! Give me a cold Bud, a brat and baseball----the way it's meant to be viewed.

Oh goody, and maybe next we can get people to dress up like Chicago Hotdogs and race... and maybe we can get a mascot!
