  1. Yeah, count how many of them had less at bats and plate appearances.
  2. Please explain for someone who doesn't live in the Chicago area.
  3. Oh he was agreeing with me? http://media3.giphy.com/media/2KHcV9MTdSGaI/200.gif Yes, Sammy was entirely justified in bringing an interpreter to the hearing. Also, congress had never been interested in ped use in sports and has not been since.
  4. so, why exactly are you against him being welcomed back? i'm just asking because it appears that you can't put your finger on it either. Why welcome him back? He walked out on his team and organization. For all we know (and we all know he wasn't clean) he is the symbol of what was wrong in the game during the steroid era, shaming himself by acting as if he couldn't speak English. Sure, he was the "heart and soul" of the Cubs and the only bright spot for so many seasons. I enjoyed the PED Era as much as all of you, but I'm just not ready to let go of my disgust at what was done to MLB. Owners, players, and Selig - all garbage. Sosa and everyone else did it for the money. They ruined the history of the game, which some of us respect. Damn, he was fun to watch play, though. I don't care if they "reinstate" him to the inner circle of Cub Glory. I doubt he'd be accepted by that body - but what the hell did they do? I just like to rant - who gives a f$#% what I think. I still love Sammy, but what the hell is he doing to himself? For the last [expletive] time. Speaking [expletive] broken English to the media is a hell of a lot different than when you're in front of a Congressional hearing. When legal wording is involved and perjury is a very real outcome, it's in one's best interests to understand what the [expletive] is being said. Everyone needs to remember that Sammy was a non-American included in that group to appear before that panel.
  5. Email them and they will get back to you. Don't expect evernight though.
  6. Well, you know what's said at this time, everyone is in first place now. I'm even a little bit excited about baseball this year.
  7. But he didn't cheat. His own words.
  8. I'm sad to not see Glanville on that supposed shortlist, dismayed but not surprised to see Sirott and curious about Sarge. Anyone know how tolerable he is on the Philly broadcasts? Sarge is just plain out terrible. Nothing good to say about him.
  9. I'll never understand what made Wilson think that it would be a good idea to charge the mound. He got the idea from Robin Ventura. Was that the most humiliating baseball beat down of all time? 60 year old Nolan Ryan giving him noogies! Even more humiliating was the fact that Ryan continued to pitch with a bloody lip and Ventura's blood on his jersey. He was such a stud. Even better was Ryan staying in the game and Ventura getting tossed for charging the mound.
  10. Yeah, it the short term though, I'm really not missing out. I'm still able to get decent seats to games when I come to Chicago. It does suck in regards to not having playoff options and such, however. If I didn't think it would be too big of a hassle to unload tickets to all those other games, I would go ahead and get them. But right now, it isn't right for me. Man,if I got the opportunity to buy now, I'd have to go forward even if I thought selling some or most would be a hassle. But I'm not the one wearing your shoes.
  11. Hey, when you finish the camp, start a thread and let all us old timers know what it's like. Who was there as instructors and just what you got out of the experience and all.
  12. Would've been high had we been able to watch it in Texas. Instead, we had to watch and listen to the Astros broadcast.
  13. Really? I was a few years older than I am now. What's even the point of this? I was just saying that during the Sosa/McGwire period I was too young to truly gauge the overall state of MLB. Someone is reeeally young!
  14. The Dodgers have been playing Nomar at SS the past few games.
