In the post-game show for Daytona, they're talking about how Marmol and Marshall both were promoted to AA last year right after the FSL All-Star game. Zisk told them when the game ended.

They're wondering when Gallagher will be promoted; Ingram believes that tonight will turn out to be his last start in a Daytona uniform.

I can't wait to see Sean in a Jaxx uniform

I'd be a week off if that happened - I thought Gallagher would be like Marmol and Marshall last year and get promoted after the FSL All-Star game.

Hill with his 4th K through 2.1 innings, Iowa leads it 2-0. The Iowa broadcast crew are talking about the country of Bhutan. Don't ask me why.

I think that's what they mean. The all-star game is next Saturday (the 17th). He could start the last game before the AS break, but they may flip someone into that spot so he'd be available for the AS game.

to put a period on Daytona's game, the D-Cubs lost 7-1. Gallagher was really strong though as he went 6 IP allowing only 4 hits, 0 runs, 3 BB's, and had 6 K's. Hunton was the Daytona pitcher who got shelled: 1 1/3 IP, 8 hits, 7 ER's, 1 BB. Alan Rick provided the only offense for Daytona as he hit a solo shot in the 9th. Fox went 0/3 with a walk, Fuld went 1/5, and Harvey went 1/4.

Peoria's game just went final as the Chiefs won 4-1. Veal was outstanding going 6 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 unearned run, 2 BB's, and 8 K's. Rayborn got the win as he went 2 innings only allowing 1 hit and striking out 3, and Campusano got his 18th save of the year as he pitched a scoreless 9th. Reed and Norwood each had 2 hits tonight and Norwood also drove in 2. Valdez and Carter had the other RBI's for the Chiefs.

pretty nice news concerning Gallagher and Veal tonight :D

It's really great that we have a pitching prospect doing really well at just about every level. Hill at AAA, Marmol at AA(although he's no longer there), Gallagher at High A, Veal and Atkins at Low A, and Pawelek at short season may end up better than any of them.

Jaxx win 5-2! Shaver got the win after going 7 innings giving up 4 hits, 2 runs, 1 BB, and having 1 K. Rapada nailed down his 19th save after working 2 perfect innings including 2 K's. Walker was 1 for 4 with an RBI and 2 SB's, EPatt was 1 for 4 with an RBI double, Nic Jackson was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and an RBI. Sing had his 2nd homer since he's been at WT. Negron had a big night tonight going 3 for 4 falling only a homer shy of the cycle.

Iowa is up 2-1 after 4. Through 4 IP for Hill, he has only allowed 3 hits, 1 run, 1 BB, and has 7 K's.

Don't forget Wells at AA.

Iowa leads it 2-1 going to the 7th - Hill has given up 1 in 6 with 9 Ks to 2 BBs. This will be a 7 inning game.

Pretty much the entire AA rotation is doing rather well.

Iowa wins 2-1! Ligtenberg closes it out with a 1-2-3 7th including a K to end it. Ligtenberg's ERA is now down to 1.21 Raisin already gave Hill's numbers...yet another good start, especially K/BB ratio from Hill. Restovich and Montanez each had 2 hits and Kopitzke had the only 2 RBI's of the game on an RBI double in the 2nd. Felix did not play tonight.

With the win tonight, Peoria's magic number for clinching a first-half playoff spot is 3!

The Jaxx don't get any help from Mississippi. The Jaxx remain 2 GB with 7 to play.

Hey folks just returned from watching the Daytona game and on the scoreboard Sean actually hit "101" twice. I can say that in talking with Sean after his past few starts he has been around mid-90's. The St Lucie pitcher was hitting 95 on the scoreboard and I will concur that there were some good defensive plays made behind him. The Family is looking forward to next weekend in Lakeland and hopefully not soon after we will hopefully make a few trips to Tenn.

pretty much what everyone's come to expect from hill.

6 ip, 4 h, 1 er, 2 bb, 9 k's. era down to 2.31, and his control continues to be great at AAA. too bad for him that rusch is pitching so well right now.

It's time for Hill to step it up in the bigs. He has nothing left to prove in the Minors. It's amazing how he can flat out dominate AAA and flat out get blown out in the Majors. How does he just lose control in the majors? Has anyone actually seen him pitch for Iowa? If so does his mechanics look different? Is his approach dif.? Kids a mystery.

Is there any particular reason why Iowa/Round Rock only went 7 innings?

they also had to finish a suspended game.

Ahhhhhhhhhh. I'll try and dig that one up and post it here, then.

Thanks for the update! On the broadcast you could hear the crowd go "ooooh" when he hit the triple digits. They said he had his own section of family and friends there.

Was the gun off or does Sean really have the ability to dial it up like that and hit 101? I always thought Sean was a smoke and mirrors guy not a flame thrower.

No, he doesn't. He's not without heat though, he consistently touches the low 90's.
