I like the use of "immovable force" to describe his bat, as he'd probably be better of with it not moving.

Well, if he is getting really sore, maybe not. He can still catch decently. He's no Matt Lecroy. I'd only want 2 at-bats out of him, maybe 3 if he could get in in 6 innings.

There was a quote when the trade was made where Nevin said he wouldn't feel real comfortable catching, because he hasn't done it much in quite a while.

There's really no way you can play Nevin at catcher. It's not worth it for one because of the team's current situation. And second of all, it's just not feasible. Nevin is a 1B and spot OF at this point in his career.

Nevin hasn't caught more than two games in a season since 1999.

Well, I guess it's out of the question, but I will say, looking at his stats and range factor from the couple games he has caught recently and even career, I'm pretty impressed given his size and limited experience there.

I think if Nevin plays well in his time behind the plate, it could add a little to his value so long as he keeps hitting like he is because a lot of good teams could use a guy with his bat. I think he'd be a great fit with the Yankees. He could get time at 1st, DH and a start every week or two for Posada.
