Neifi Perez (and Dusty) need your help....

Found this link today. Very similar to the IHateAmericanIdol.com's attempts to get the dorkiest person(s) voted into the finals of AI.

 

The Unrestricted View blog is attempting to get Neifi Perez and Juan Castro voted in as the starting SS for the ASG. Mostly in protest to the fans voting in players that don't deserve to be there (aka Giambi a couple years ago, Nomar of late, etc).

 

Not that I actually want him to be there. But his fan election is the ONLY thing that can justify that contract and get Dusty his extension. So, in the name of politics, vote early, and vote often.

I don't want to hear an argument that the Cubs will justify Neifi being good by this all-star selection. They're going to say he's so great anyway, and this team isn't going anywhere. Might as well try to have some fun with it.

I'm the guy who started this whole campaign along with my buddy Graham. Graham is a huge Cubs fan who grew up not far from Wrigley and I'm a Twins fan because my parents are from the area. Now we're both living in Central Texas.

 

We chose Neifi and Juan because we constantly complain about how much they bring our teams down, yet Dusty and Gardy continue to play them for unfathomable reasons. The four aforementioned people greatly reduce our quality of life.

 

I just wanted to thank anyone who's supporting our cause. I've noticed we've been getting quite a few hits from this forum - along with other Cubs and general baseball forums.

 

I'm actually a bit surprised at how quickly our campaign has started to steamroll. (We only posted this about 3 days ago) We've gotten links on very popular sites like Fark, Deadspin, and Baseball Musings. Graham and I are also doing an on-air telephone interview with a radio staion in Orlando tomorrow at 7 central. (WTKS 104.1) It's been kind of a whirlwind.

 

Once again, thanks to all who are supporting us and spreading the word. Nothing would excite me more than to see Neifi and Juan take the field at the ASG.
