Huh. Murton in #3.

Interesting lineup. I'm gonna be excited to see how it performs.

And for the record, I can't ever root against the Cubs. For me it's just impossible. I love them too much.

Me too, but dammit. Wake me up when the Cubs have a 10 game winning streak. .

Good to see Jones starting against a lefty again. I'll be needing a laugh or two tonight while I'm working on my two 15 page papers

Until yesterday, I had been rooting against the cubs for the short-term. After yesterday's win, I made the decision to begin rooting for a winning streak.

This run through the NL Central will undoubtedly be the deciding point of the season. A bad run will solidify our fate and a big winning streak will put us back in it.

A .500 or .550 run is the worst possible scenario, for obvious reasons.

So....for now.....Go CUBS!

I wonder what the Cubs record is when Baker does his patented "double switch? Somehow I think he is going to it again tonight!

Just started to pour over here.

Hopefully it steers clear of Chicago.

Not raining 40 miles west of Chicago. .

Not raining 30 miles northwest..... but it does look ominous.

I want the Cubs to win long term. If that means losing short term, then fine, lets do it and get it over with. Like pulling a band-aid.

I feel the same way. Even though it seems early in the season, barring a miracle we have already eliminated ourselves from the playoff race. What's the difference if we finish .500 or 20 games below if we don't make the playoffs either way? If it takes a terrible season in order to rebuild a championship-caliber team, then I'm all for it. Hanging around .500 every year doesn't do anything for me...

With Neifi not in the starting line-up, I think the patented double switch is all but guaranteed.

Hey I have to give Baker some credit here, he actually used the double switch properly with Dempster yesterday!

Patented, my butt !! Managers were using the double switch in baseball 70 years before Johnnie B. was a gleam in his old man's eye !!!

Dusty "reinvented" the double switch. :)

Nice first inning for Maddux.
