Nice effort all around today. Aardsma looked sharp, hitting 98 with his fastball and high 80s with his changeup. Wood looked good. Even Juanny-Boy hit a triple!

Good game, imo,

This is the lineup we should have in everyday from now on until we get DLee back.. Having Womack in is sparking the offense a little bit.. Good Win Today

Oh gods no, this lineup is terrible.

Starting with the top. There is no reason why Walker shouldn't be leading off or in the 2 hole, along with Murton somewhere up there. Pierre and Womack need to be way down on the order. (Preferably off it completely, but we wont see that)

There is one good reason why Walker shouldn't be hitting 1 or 2.... he's the best RBI man on the team right now !!

Personally, I'm tired of seeing Pierre leading off. Until he shows he has the on base skills to justify it, he should be hitting 8th in the lineup right now. He has a worse OBP than everyone else in the linsup today, including Wood!

19 runs the past 2 days. Thta's nice for a change.

Really good to hear this Aardsma kid throws really hard. Maybe the Cubs will get something outta Latroy Hawkins afterall.

Somehow I feel as if another six game losing streak could start tomorrow.

The CUBS are showing signs of their offense coming around.......

05/24 - 05/29 AB R H 2b 3b HR TB RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS
CUBS 188 28 61 10 3 3 86 28 7 17 0.324 0.352 0.457 0.809

I know, it's only 5 games, and we lost 4 of them. But we scored 5.6 R/G which is a whole lot better than what be been doing up to this point. Now let's see what the pitching staff can put together in the near future ??

I'd much rather see Womack in there than Neifi. Sounds crazy but I would like to see a lineup like this for a week and see how it goes:

Murton

Womack

Walker

Aram

Jones

Barrett

Cedeno

Pierre

Pitcher

Pierre could bunt Cedeno over so the pitcher can knock him in.

I like that lineup. Obviously if Pierre isn't hitting he needs to be moved down. Right now Womack is, but I don't look to him for a long term solution

I totally get it that you want to move Pierre down in the order because he hasn't been hitting. I don't see why you want take Ramirez, who hasn't been hitting well either, and move him up, while you take Barrett, who has been hitting well, and move him down.

05/23 - 05/29 AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS

Ramirez 25 2 6 2 1 0 10 4 0 3 0.240 0.269 0.400 0.669

A solution until June 14-16 or so sounds good to me. It certainly sparked something yesterday and today.

Unbridled optimism that Ramirez is about to catch fire. :D

Go CUBS !!

With a 4 run lead Aardsma should have been able to start the 8th. This was Eyre's 4th day in a row coming in. Suprising Howry wasn't brought in for a batter. Hes pitched the last 3 days in a row! Keep killing our pitchers Dusty!

Until Lee gets back, I think I'd prefer something like:

CF - Pierre

LF - Murton

2B - Walker

3B - Ramirez

C - Barrett

RF - Jones

1B - Hoffpauir

SS - Cedeno

I'd drop Pierre to 8 and move everyone else up one.

If Pierre can't lead off he doesn't belong on the team. Better to trade him.

Agreed. He brings absolutely nothing else to the table.
