Dammit, what's happening?!?

Aurilia hit one in the air. The ball hit off the wall behind the basket, bounced off the basket itself, then plopped out onto the field. Murton ran over and picked it up like it was in play and the umps called it a double.

Aurilia or Freel?

It was Freel.

I get those scrappy MIFs on the Reds confused. ;)

Freel and Felipe are the two I always get backwards.

I'll never confuse Aurillia with anyone, 'cuz he's one of those ex-Dustyites that I fear us trading for some day.

Dempster had a scary moment, but even if it had gone it was just one run...he locked it down and got 3 k's over 5 batters...way to go, Ryan!

I called it

Looks like the Cubs played pretty well for a change. Probably not a sign of things to come, just good to see we're not completely inept out there.

My fear is that with us winning one out of every 4-7 games is just enough to prevent any needed changes from occuring. Hopefully not...

CUBS are now 2-6 when they don't draw a single walk.

Go CUBS !!

We didn't draw a walk?

Way to ruin the victory, Fred.

Sorry 'bout that...... but it is what it is !!

Did anyone notice the one guys shirt when they panned the crowd at the end of the game that said:

Fire Dusty

Fire Hendry

Fire MacPhail

But with 13 hits, that's a .351 obp. Nothing wrong with that!

I say:

The Reds are up 3-2 in the bottom in then ninth. David Weathers loads the bases on 12 straight Ricky Vaughn balls. Nefti Perez comes up with a chance to win the game, but promptly on the first pitch grounds the ball over to third base. Shocked that he even made contact with the ball, just look dumbfounded. Encarnacion takes the grounder, touches third, throws to 2b, and who in turn throws the relay to first. For the seldom seen game ending Triple Play.

After the game...Perez is giving the lifetime achievement award for saving David Weathers career.

Question: Would the above scenario top losing a game on a 2-run sac fly? Or an infield fly bouncing off a defender's head?

Would it matter?

I believe it actually read:

Forget Dusty

Fire Hendry

Fire MacPhail
