I was watching the Reds pregame on Foxsports a few minutes ago and they showed a pitch sequence from last night's game. After getting down 0-2, Dunn worked the count even. On the next pitch, a ball that filled the count, Dunn tossed his bat and trotted to first.

 

I had just flipped to the channel and from what I gathered, no one caught the mistake during the game and he got the base on balls.

The pitcher didn't even put up a fight. He just asked for the ball.

Thats actually pretty amazing.

 

Not that stuff like this doesn't happen all the time.

Dusty would have challenged that call. Hell, I'm suprised that he hasn't challenged more legitimate walks.

 

"Dude, that was a check swing, he struck out. "

 

"Dusty, what the heck are you talking about, the bat didnt leave his shoulder"

That is awesome. Somebody posted something about this in another thread and I thought it was a complete joke but obviously it wasn't.
