I didn't see this posted here yet, from ChicagoSports.com...

While manager Dusty Baker and most Cubs players interviewed had no problem with A.J. Pierzynski's collision with Michael Barrett, rookie left-hander Rich Hill called it "gutless" and "pathetic."

"I think it was pretty gutless on their part—him hitting Michael when he didn't even have the ball," Hill said. "That's not how you play the game. If he had the ball and he hits him, that's fine, that's how you play it. But you don't go around just running over catchers. What if he injured him and he didn't have the ball? That's not the way you play the game. … It was pathetic."

Sox manager Ozzie Guillen was livid when he heard Hill's comment.

"Tell that Triple-A [bleep] to shut the [bleep] up," Guillen said. "Tell him to start throwing some strikes or he's going to get Dusty fired."

With Zambrano on the hill tomorrow, I call for a pick-off move that picks off Ozzie instead of the runner on 1b; anybody second the motion?

Fixed for truth.

The only thing people should be asking Hill about is how much the used Lincoln is over in the corner of the lot. He can jaw when he isn't God-awful. Until then, "no comment" and go work on your fastball, you soft-armed gimp.

I can't believe I'm agreeing with Ozzie. What in the hell is this world coming to?

There was a time, in 2003, that the Cubs had a "don't give a (Bleep) attitude."

It wasn't as brash as Guillen's, and I'm not saying it's the necessarily the right thing to do, but the cubs still had it.

if dusty gets fired it'll definitely be because of the four games hill's lost and not b/c of 2+ years of underachieving.

Agreed. It still made me laugh though.

wow, people are rough on hill today. you'd think he lost all 25 games this year.

I'd settle for seeing him win one.

Would've been tough without a run today.

He's throwing the ball well, they're just hitting good pitches dude. Just bad luck... It will all even out.

Indeed.

And back in '03 when Torii Hunter bowled over the Sox backup catcher (was it Josh Paul then?), White Sox fans would have loved it if he had stood up and punched Hunter silly aftewards.

here's a fun fact...how many runs have the cubs scored in hill's four losses?

1 (that's combined)

pretty sure it wouldn't matter much if hill had an era of 8 or 1...the offense is the problem, not rich hill.

Although Guillen also backed Hunter at the time and said it was a good play.

It's really convenient to toss that out and then not mention how many runs he's given up in his games pitched this season. Hell, last season, too. Obviously, the offense is letting guys down, but Hill on the mound typically means you need 5-6 runs just to keep it close, almost every single time. He's a useless sack of meat.

Hes also given up 20 earned runs in those 4 games. They're both problems.

Greg Maddux:

He turned out ok.

Along that line of thinking, maybe Rich Hill will end up being the manager that leads the Cubs to victory after his pitiful career as a player ends...

Hmmmmmmmmmm...
