typically says can't blame dusty - he at least acknowledged dusty has been less than stellar in the past - which to me is the real justification to can him.

I don't understand the question. I don't think very many analysts will call for dusty's head on national tv. that's why I think there is significance to reading between the lines.

imo, Hendry doesn't want to fire him but he is going to get forced into it.

I saw Joe Morgan tonight. It seems to make some sense on the surface, but this is from a guy that's seeing Cub highlights (if that), reading the paper and talking to people. Sit and watch this train wreck day in and day out and you'd probably have a different opinion. Then he says he talked to Dusty and Dusty said he doesn't want to leave Chicago. Yeah, there's a shocker. Nice paycheck and the best baseball town in the bigs.

Maybe we should swap sunflower seeds for No Doz and wake these boys up.... and that includes Mr. Rothschild.

3 out of 4 ATH panelists today said that Dusty's not responsible for the Cubs' sucking. The only one who didn't was the Chicagoan, Mariotti.

I think the national media at large is just completely not paying attention, and that's why Morgan defended him. (So have a few others on ESPN.) One glance at the lineups each day tells you all you need to know about Dusty.

I just saw it and I love how the interviewer (Karl Everett?) ended the conversation with "Hall Of Famer Joe Morgan" like it's supposed to bring some credibility to Morgan's statements.

Not to start discension, but is that typical Morgan or does any of that factor into race?

To be fair, he is on record that he thinks Bonds is being attacked due to race.

I agree. Steve Phillips (yes I know he's a moron) was kissing Dusty's butt this morning on Mike and Mike, nearly making me puke.

Dusty, like Bonds, I think is one of Joe Morgan's favorites, meaning he won't say a single disparaging word about him.

Well, he wasn't that kind to him - that was the telling thing.
