The decision to send Guzman out for this inning is not a good one IMO.

It's the bottom of the lineup.

He was also over 90 pitches and hasn't been brilliant with those. He's also Angel Guzman, who's main concern has been not getting hurt.

Damn, I didn't even realize he was still out there. This is a horrible, horrible decision. The guy is coming off arm problems, and you are gonna throw him out there for a 6th inning when he's already above 90 pitches!?! It's not like he's even pitching that great.

Yep. The same Dusty who worries about using his pen too much has his starters throw way too many pitches on a regular basis.

The research shows the number of pitches causes injuries while time in between appearances doesn't matter as much as baseball people believe it does.

yeah, but don't expect dusty to think about that.

Which is why he has no buisness being the manager of my team if I were Jim Hendry.

Pitchers spot is coming up first next inning which as I'm typing this leads to...

the infamous Dusty Baker double switch. Should have seen that one coming.

and because we like Duke so much, we're giving him a free out to start the next inning!

SHould of just pinch hit with Z... actually, save Z for when it counts.

Yep, I didn't even think about his pitchcount. You're right.

We gave him a free out to end the last inning. Hairston's been brutal.

So Z can get angry, break another bat over his leg, and injure himself? Let's just leave Z on the bench until he has to pitch.

Dusty, aren't you supposed to be managing the game and not on the computer?

Well what choice do he have? The bullpen is spend as it is and our next day off is in two weeks.

There are 7 people in the bullpen, and we had a starter go nearly 8 innings last night. It's far from "spent".
