Is there a way to got to a specific page in a thread? Often I find myself leaving for a couple of hours and the game thread is several pages past where I left off. Maybe we could get an option to click to a certain page number Edited by mhuber92211

No, but there could be a drop down list.

I'll work on it. In the meantime, you can always go to any page and edit the URL to get to the page you want.

Or have an input box where you can type in the page you'd like to go to and hit a button or enter? Just throwing out options.

You could just use the "View newest post" button that takes you to the first new post since you last visited the thread. (It might be a premium-only feature, though... I'm not sure.)

One of the best features of Premium is how that feature is improved over the regular way it works.

The regular UI sets that flag as the newest post when your session began. So if you are in a game thread, it will always take you back to the same post that was the newest one when you logged in.

The premium UI will bring you to the actual newest post that you haven't yet read. Much, much nicer if you are reading for a long time.

Can anybody program a Greasemonkey script to display all the page numbers as links?

So instead of 1, 2, 3, ...., 67, 68, 69, it'll just display all 69 pages in order.

Another idea is to have the script display an input box that you use to enter the page number you want to go to.

My javascript is really rusty, or else I'd try to write the script myself.

Bringing this back up again-is there any way to do this insde a forum and not a particular thread? I went looking for a thread today, and I knew approximately what page it was on. When there are 229 pages of Baseball Discussion threads, you know your thread is somewhere between page 100-150, and the only thing you can access is either page 3 or page 227, that makes those middle threads almost useless. Is there any way to navigate that using the URL, or could we possibly get it where there is a mark for every 10 or 20 pages?

You can use the numbers in the URL.

For example, let's say you're looking for something in that 100-150 range in transactions. By clicking on Page 2 of Transactions, I get this url: viewforum.php?f=6&topicdays=0&start=20

That last number is the important one. 20 threads per page, so page 2 starts at thread 20. If I replace that 20 in the url with 2000, I jump to Page 101.

I would like to bring this up for consideration again.

It'll be there shortly. When I upgrade the board to phpbb3, that's a standard feature of the software.
