Oooh, Williams v. Reyes

Anthony Reyes has been bumped by Memphis. They now have RHP Brad Voyles (1-0, 1.50 ERA, 18 IP) going for them.

Well FINE! I didn't want to see that matchup anyways!

I wonder if Voyles is the Ponson of Memphis.

Wrong again!

Well, kinda. Matt Smith is coming into relief for Memphis...before the bottom of the first. Voyles was hurt during his warmup pitches and had to leave the game. Smith was going to pitch during the DH on Saturday but will have to go in emergency tonight.

Jerome Williams gave up two solo HRs in the top of the first and all three outs were hit in the air.

The series ends on Sunday with Hill vs. Reyes.

Pie takes 3 close pitches out of the zone and a strike down the middle before hitting a sharply hit grounder to first. He was robbed of a single on the diving stop and feed to the pitcher covering just in time.

and Norwood hits a Loooooong 2 run homer here in Dayton. 3-2 Chiefs.

Norwood is putting up some decent power numbers so far this month. .513 SLG%, I believe.

Theriot with a bloop single followed by an RBI double from Padgett and an RBI single from McGehee.

2-2 after 1.

And Desi Relaford becomes the second Memphis player to leave the game. Didn't see what happened, but I assume he injured himself while running to first on a single to right.

Voyles left with a strained right pec.

By the way, Pie is playing RF tonight with Coats in CF. :-k

anybody else notice pie is in right field tonight? is this preparation for seeing felix take over for jacque at some point this season? i am against putting him in right over the long term, b/c his value will be lessened, but at this rate i'm pretty sure he'll be able to out-produce jones. and there wouldn't be a whole lot of hits dropping into 2/3 of the outfield with him ad pierre out there -- pierre would be able to shift over toward murton, even.

Just noticed that. I haven't been watching since the beginning so I don't know if they mentioned that.

Did I miss Greenberg getting promoted to Iowa? Gameday shows him on the bench for Iowa.

It really feels like I missed the thread...

Nic Jackson is up with the Jaxx, so Greenberg must indeed be with Iowa. What caused this?

Thanks.

Pie fouled off a bunt for strike one and then grounded out to second.
