Folks around here like to submerge the peanuts in a bottle of Pepsi and consume both at once. I've never tried it.

My first ever baseball game, my little league team went to an Indianapolis Indians (AAA affiliate for Reds at the time, now Pirates) game at old Bush Stadium.

One of my coaches was eating the whole peanut, shell and all. He said this was the only way to eat them. I tried it, and 25 years later this is still the way I prefer to eat peanuts.

There is nothing better to me than being at a ballgame with peanuts and cold beer. Probably a good thing I don't get to a lot of games, because I'm sure the shell can't be good for the digestive tract.

But seriously, if you have never tried it, at least try it once. Just a little bit chewy, okay, a lot chewy. A pretty salty too.

Can someone explain the boiled peanuts I see in the deep south? I saw them at most the convenience stores when goign down to JazzFest in New Orleans.

Is that so you eat them whole?

No...One shouldn't eat those whole unless they are willing to commit to some serious porcelain time I would think. Boiled peanuts can be boiled with various spices, but the cajun variety seems to permeate throughout the South.

Have you tried the boiled peanuts? without the shell? pretty tasty, IMO.
