Without Wood, Prior, and Lee this team is really a bottom feeder.

A series against the Marlins should prevent that from happening.

 

I doubt it. A series with the Marlins might prove to be more of a catalyst for said bender

 

Maddux will step up tomorrow. He is the right man for this spot. I really wish he was ptiching last night. Jerome looked overmatched last night.

 

True enough, what angers me most is that save for Pujols, Edmonds and Rolen he looked overmatched against what is largely a collection of journey men junk.

This seems like a good time to say that I would switch Eyre and Lee's situations in approximately .0000005 seconds.

I was thinking along those lines the other day, how many games did Walter Payton miss in his Bears career? He played a sport that is arguably tougher on the body than Baseball yet, here are Prior and Wood, who, quite probably never will play a full season for the remainder of their careers.

Even more tragic, their trade value has now gone down dramatically. Especially Wood.

I understand, but every year, the same thing happens. This is year 3 of it and it's not Dusty's fault now. It leaves the Cubs with uncertainty every year. Who's going to start? How long are they going to be gone?
