Last night at Dodger Stadium, I had the opportunity to watch the game in a box immediately to the right of the Cubs dugout. It was great. It ruined me. I might not be able to enjoy watching a game from anywhere else ever again.

Some highlights:

David Aardsma exited the dugout having been made to wear a bright red, little kids, "first-day-at-school" backpack. I immediately recognized him and started razing him. "Welcome to the bigs, rook. Nice luggage, Aardsma! Yeah, we know who you are..." All the other relievers were laughing as he tried not to break a smile.

Later, Kerry Wood popped his head up out of the dugout and looked back in the stands. I asked him, "How you feelin' Kerry?" He made eye contact with me and nodded as if to stay "just fine". He then smiled. He looks like he has added about 15 pounds, and not in a good way. I guess rehabbing will do that to you.

If you are ever in a game at Dodger Stadium, I highly recommend the field boxes in Section 26. Only four seats to a box. They're padded seats with a countertop to set your food or beverage on and a shelf underneath for any personal belongings (camera bags, jackets). It keeps that stuff off the ground so it doesn't get covered in peanut shells and spilled beer. Nice.

I'm sitting in the same seats for tonight's game. Here's hoping the Cubs can hit Penny better than they hit Lowe.

Nice ... mind if I ask how much those set you back?

Face value, they're a hundred. I paid $20 over.

Do you have a connection?

Just an internet connection.

Are those are the Hollywood Bowl-type seats? They look nice.

Yeah, they are nice. They are brand new, too. Lots of leg room. Which is great if you are tall like me. Its kinda like flying first class except they don't give you a hot towel.

Yeah, they looked like a real nice idea, great for families with young kids.

Maybe next year...

Is it true at Dodger Stadium you can only enter at assigned locations (based upon where you are sitting) and moving around is highly limited?

Yes. Although entrances are slightly less secured but they won't let you near a section that isn't yours.

This is definitely true. I went to all three games (my first at Dodger Stadium), and the $8 bleacher tickets suited my wallet much better. I did not know, however, that they do not serve alcholol of any kind in the bleachers, nor would they allow us to move to any section where they did, even if we didn't bring it back to our own section. Plus, it meant not being able to get close to the players during batting practice, which was no fun. The seats were still nice, though.

Were you near where Jenna Jameson was??? That'd be a c-note well spent...

Was she in the suite with Hugh Hefner? A playmate threw out the first pitch on Tuesday. She bounced it...if you know what I mean.

On a related note, watching Hugh Hefner do the wave was hilarious for some reason. What a freakin' stud.

The Derrek Lee injury happened right in front of me, literally maybe 20 yards away, and, the collision was palpable. Coincedentally, as I was leaving the ballpark, Derrek was getting into a Lincoln Town Car right outside the gate I was exiting. Before his driver could shut the door, I went over to him and asked him if he was alright. His right wrist and hand were wrapped up very heavily with ace bandages over something else. I couldn't tell if it was a cast, but his wrist looked immoblized regardless. He heard me and answered, "We'll see tomorrow." Sorry, not much of a scoop, but you still got it straight from the horse's mouth.

From my vantage point, it doesn't look good. I think he's missing a minimum of a few weeks with a good possibility of him being gone much, much longer. We'll see.

I can't stress enough how awesome it was sitting in those new boxes in Dodger Stadium. You know how when you are watching the game on TV, and the Cubs do something good, you shout out, "Yeah, great play, Ronny!" or when they are down a couple of runs you'd say, "Alright, let's get it going now" as if they can actually hear you? Well imagine saying those things and they actually can hear you and see you and some of them look back and make eye contact with you and nod. Its like being in the dugout with them.

Section 26. Field Box 2, Seats 1-4. Boxes 3-5 do just fine as well. Outstanding. So worth the money.

I took some great pictures. I'll try and post them. I've never done that before. It can't be too difficult, can it?

And finally, Cedeno is an electric player. He airmailed that throw to a guy in the same row as me about 15 feet to my left. But more than makes up for it with the game winning hit and incredible, game-saving, completely horizontal, diving catch to end the game. Nomar who?

Garciaparra. I can't believe you would forget, he's right there in LA!

Jk, sounds like great seats, thanks for the summary and the attempt to get the scoop on Lee. :)

No, she was on the 3rd base line it looked like. bouncing out of a Dodgers jersey... Quality stuff... And at least her personalities were fighting to get out of that Dodger's jersey...
