I think the coaches feel the pressure to win these beginning games w/o Wood and Prior here to go deep into the game and dominate. They don't seem to be confident in our starters, so every lead we get after the 5th innings gets the best we have out of the pen.

7 appearances in 11 games? he isn't going to be able to keep up that pace for a full season. He's on pace for 109+ IP.

 

Hopefully our starters go deeper into the game or we get some blowouts.
