...already annoy me and they haven't even happened yet. I can see them all already:

Marshall Plan

Marshall Law

Marshall Art

US Marshall

Marshall's Field

The 'Prior' headlines were much worse because they really never even made sense, but just as predictable. Thing's like "Prior Convictions" and the like are major reaches. For the record, I'm not trashing the writers, because I know they don't write the headlines.

Well, if Marshall does well, I'd just simply put "The Marshall"

Now if Marshall gets bombed, well I guess "Marshmallowed" might work. *shrug*

Marshall, Marshall, Marshall!

Berman might sue :D

Nah, with Marshall Faulk on the outs, he can just transfer his Boomerism instead of thinking up something new. ;)

I have to agree that one probably doesn't suck. The first two are dreadful and utterly too predictable. The problem is that The Trib, Sun Times, Herald and Southtown will probably all have some variation of the same stupid headline. Marshall's field would be pretty good. Watch that Bruce Miles guys steal my headline now...

Judging by the 1st inning, it should be "Ump arrests Marshall"

The ump definitely gave Marshall the rookie treatment.

I unfortunately could only catch the last couple innings.

The box score gave me some idea, but how did Marshall do?

I thought he did well, other than making that one mistake to Rolen, who jacked the 2 run HR off of him. Other than that, I thought he did well, never losing his composure, including that inconsistent homeplate umpire giving him the rookie treament. He did run into some trouble on that one inning where he loaded the bases.

But other than that, he tried his best to put the Cubs in a position to win it.

I thought he did a great job. The umpire hosed him a few times, including the Rolen at bat. If that one pitch is called a strike, I believe Marshall is ahead in the count and doesn't serve up the pitch he did.

I wouldn't have minded seeing him work out of the bases loaded jam, mainly to see if he could get out of it and preserve his first major league win, but going to the pen was probably the better idea. Cedeno just missed that ground ball, but I'm not sure he would have been able to get a throw off in time if he did get it.
