So who do you guys want with those 2 lottery picks?

I'm really excited about the position the Bulls are in, but its a shame that this is supposed to be one of the weaker drafts in memory. Let's hope they end up with better than Jamal Crawford and Marcus Fizer at the end of the summer. I see trades coming.

Give me Aldridge and Allan Ray if possible. The Ray pick would be contingent on the Bulls trading one of their guards in the off-season, which they will probably do, I think.

No to Allan Ray. Why must the Bulls be cursed to undersized two guards who are just gonna kill us in individual matchups which will allow us to wallow in mediocrity forever until we get a change in drafting philosophy with regards to the concept SIZE DOES MATTER.

That felt good.

An addendum. I'm probably one of the biggest trade Kirk people on this board, but there is simply not enough minutes for Kirk, Ben, and an actual two way difference maker at the guard position. I do not mind Duhon as the primary backup to the PG spot. I know Pax and Skiles both have a huge hard on for Hinrich, but I can't help but imagine if they could mold Gordon into a point guard where his quickness may be a slight issue, but his size and strength could make up for it on both sides of the ball.

I'm just thinking out of the box here...

Ray has much more raw athleticism than Ben Gordon in my mind (although Ben is the slightly better shooter). His 6-2 height means less than Gordon's "deficiency". However, I don't think the Bulls want him or will get him.

How many teams win anything with the entire backcourt being under 6' 3"?

No team is ever going to win anything with the entire backcourt being under 6'3" if no team ever actually employs such a lineup. Like you said, I'm just thinking outside the box.

Crazy talk. Ben benched over 300 pounds and his vertical was measured at 39 inches at the NBA combine. I seriously doubt Ray will come close to those numbers at this year's combine -- Ray's ranked as the 92nd best NBA draft prospect by ESPN at the moment -- but we'll know for sure in a couple months.

I'm all for drafting a bigger SG like Brandon Roy with the Bulls pick, but I'd prefer a three guard rotation with him, Kirk and Ben then using Duhon as the primary back-up. And I'd keep Duhon over Pargo.

[rant]I'll go so far as to guarantee you that Torin Francis is ranked higher than Ray on this list, and yet Francis sucks terribly and as someone who's watched him closely for four years I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole that was covered in cellophane and had been treated with anti-germ medication. Francis is purely and simply awful and he's no doubt ranked higher than Ray (in fact I saw a mock draft a month ago that had SA picking him Francis with their 2nd round pick). I just don't like predraft rankings of players at all because they look only at tools and not at accomplishment.[/rant]

If you ask me Pargo is pretty useless and he seems to be a ball hog.

Torin Francis isn't listed in ESPN's top 100 at present.

If Ray had more raw athleticism than Ben Gordon, this wouldn't be affecting his ranking, though, right?

Most scenarios on ESPN's Lottery thingy have the Bulls taking Aldridge and Brewer with their two lottery picks.

I think we need big men WAY more than adding more players to a crowded backcourt. Chandler is proving himself to be defensively apt but offensively unreliable, we have no true center....only Deng has distinguished himself as a go-to forward. Get Aldridge in there and suddenly Chandler's opportunities to score increase (like when Curry was here) as Aldridge has both an inside and outside game.

Brandon Roy's stock must be on the rise. The Bulls were selecting Aldridge and Roy most of the time on that thing last night.

way up. 5th or 6th overall.

It has the Bulls taking Aldridge regardless if they get the 1, 2, 3 or 4th pick. Gay and Morrison are the other Top 3 guys.

I'd really prefer Roy or Carney over Brewer. A front court guy is definitely needed moreso than a guard, but the Bulls aren't that deep in the backcourt. Plus, a big guard would give them the flexibility to play a 3-guard lineup (which they can't really do now because of matchup problems), playing Roy/Brewer/Carney at the 3, with any combo of Deng/Aldridge/Chandler at the 4-5.

Aldridge is a great fit and I can't see the Bulls taking anyone else if he's available. But once they take the best big on the board with the first pick, I wouldn't argue with them adding some size to the backcourt. They certainly don't need another SF.

Barring a collapse in the final 14 games, neither of those guys are likely to be there when the Bulls are using their second first round pick. Carney strikes me as more of a 3, too -- and I think the Bulls are set at SF.

Don't the Bulls have 2 firsts?

if ESPN's projections are correct, Roy would in no way be available with the Bull's second pick. They'd have to trade up

yes, and if the season ended today, the Knicks pick would be no worse than 4th overall (with the 2nd pick at #11).

Yep. Do you think the Bulls should use the Knicks pick on Roy or Carney over Aldridge or Bargnani?

yeah, but isn't it possible for the Bulls to win one of the top 3 picks in the lottery and still get the #4 from the Knicks? Or for that matter get the top 2.
