If that were Prior, it would have hit him in the face and ended his career.

 

Well, maybe not that bad, but a Cubs pitcher would have been hurt on the play.

Eyre still in there?

 

I don't want to nitpick this early in the season. But you've got a 7 man bullpen, including a starter in Williams. The big concern with Eyre is he's coming off some serious overuse. Why not start this inning fresh with Williams, and keep from extending Eyre this early in the season?

I have to agree with you there. No reason for Eyre to go two innings today.

Kearns doesn't look as thick this year. I wonder if he lost weight due to his 2005 struggles? (Not meant as a steroid implication.)

Yeah...I'd appreciate it if our team could not walk people...and then...maybe...take some walks. that would be good.

 

well dude, we've TAKEN 6 walks today, that's more than we did ALL of last season. or at least it feels like it.
