this is what Rusch does everytime we get to the breaking point with him, he goes out and completely dominates the other team.

 

so true. good to see him putting it together. keep it up.

 

IIRC, He's scheduled to face the Reds in game #2 to begin the season.

If I was optimistic, I'd say Tony Gwynn with more power!

 

I just really like Matty. He has an exceptional approach to the plate and an exceptional work ethic. I hope he's in LF for the Cubs for years to come.

 

 

I couldn't agree more. I'm so gun shy on any rookie (young guy) taking the field since the Hill, Choi, and Patterson failures (at least in a Cub uni).

I want Murton and Cedano to work out so bad. To much negative talk about the bad side of the new Guys Hendry brought in.

24.5% of th PA's and 24.6% of the runs scored.

 

Sorry but with Ramirez and Lee behind them the 1-2 spots should be doing more than average in the run scoring department. What if your 3-4 hitters just did 23% of the RBI in 23% of the PA's? We'd be screaming, that's what!

 

That's all quite true, but it really doesn't address the original point.

I absolutely agree that the players hitting in front of any team's 3 and 4 hitters should be getting more than their share of runs scored. I wasn't arguing that point, just keeping Fred on his toes (as he does so well to the rest of us).

while obviously hyperbole, the original post (the one about Ramirez and Lee only getting RBI in the form of each other) has significant merit. The 1-2 spots in the order didn't perform last year.

It was obviously an exaggeration. But the original point was that the top of the Cubs order sucked last year.
