If you're still reading this, I know I enjoyed the story about Ryne Sandberg giving the pop flies to Dunston. I think a lot of Cubs fans identify with the older players, and it brought a sense of the Cubs history to the game.

Here's Bruce Miles' recap.

At the plate: Felix Pie, Brandon Sing, Marquis Grissom and Michael Restovich each doubled. Angel Pagan was 2-for-3.

On the mound: Lefty Rich Hill worked 2 scoreless innings, giving up 1 hit. He struck out one and hit two batters. Scott Eyre made his spring debut. He gave up a double but struck out three in 1 inning. Bob Howry worked a scoreless inning and lefty prospect Sean Marshall pitched 2 scoreless innings. Michael Wuertz finished with a scoreless ninth.

Next: The Cubs travel to Phoenix to play the Oakland Athletics. Angel Guzman pitches for the Cubs against Dan Haren.

For those who watched, I know some of this has been maybe in the thread, but could you review what some of the pitchers looked like fastball wise? I'll guess, correct if possible.

*Hill: 89'ish fastball, maybe one 94 mph wildman no control pitch.

*Marshall: several 91-92 type fastballs?

*Ryu? A couple of 89-90'ish, maybe one 92? Or a couple in the 90-92 range?

*Eyre: what was he like?

*Wuertz?

*Howry?

Craig, that looks about right.

Hill was clocked at 89 consistiently. The one pitch at 94 was no where near the zone.

I wasn't paying much attention to Marshall's radar readings, but his curve was spectacular.

Eyre looked very good.

Howry seemed to be a bit rusty as did Wuertz.

Ryu's curve/splitter was more impressive the Hill's yesterday in my opinion. But in reality, there was little to complain about from the game, except for maybe Novoa's performance.

I watched Ryu's curve on that strike-out at least four times. It was awesome. Ryu would make a better reliever than Welly right now.
